MaVERIC -Manila Vietnamwar Enthusiasts Reenactors Impressionists Collectors MaVERIC is a Phils. based Living History group formed in 2007 bound by a common interest. We salute you all.

The Vietnam War was one of the longest, costliest and deadliest in America's history of warfare. It raged on for more than a decade and in that period, the US military pitted with the North Vietnamese Communists and its block. This conflict ushered in developments and advancements in gear (tropical ripstop/camo uniforms-ERDL,Tigers, Nylon webbing, STABO, NV/Starlight, medical eqpt), weapons (M16, AK47, M60, RPG-7, M-72 LAW, M61 Vulcan, Smartbombs, M18A1 Claymore)and transport (Huey UH1, Bell AH1 Cobra, Chinook, M113 APC, Mutt) which are considered as milestones in the history of modern militaria. Our group provides a homage to that period of evolution which gave birth to these icons. Finally, this page is sincerely dedicated to all soldiers who fought in all wars with the virtues of bravery, selflessness and honor.

RIP Col.Kilgore

Robert Duvall RIP.
His character portrayal of Col. Kilgore is one of those moments rare in cinematic history where fiction influences popular culture. To me the surfing Colonel exemplifies everything that I love, and when I first sat in the cinema in 1979, the image of Duvall wearing the Renny Yater tee cemented my earliest concepts of Surfing and War. It’s easy to see how the Papa brand developed from this point, mix the two things that inspire you and push forward. I owe a lot to John Milius for the awesome script but especially to Duvall in bringing character alive.
