ANO ANG PAP SMEAR?

Ang Pap smear ay isang test para sa kababaihan na ginagawa upang ma-detect kung may abnormal cells o cancer sa cervix (bukana ng matres).

Ano ang layunin ng Pap smear?
Ginagawa ito para:

Maagang matukoy ang cervical cancer
Makita kung may abnormal cells sa cervix
Ma-detect ang impeksyon o pagbabago sa cells bago pa maging cancer.

Paano ginagawa ang Pap smear?

Hihiga ang babae sa examination bed.
Maglalagay ang doktor ng speculum sa puwerta para makita ang cervix.
Kukuha ng maliit na sample ng cells sa cervix gamit ang maliit na brush o spatula.

Masakit ba?
Kadalasan hindi masakit, pero may konting discomfort o pressure lang.

Sino ang dapat magpa-Pap smear?
Babaeng 21 years old pataas
Mga sexually active
Inirerekomenda na gawin every 3 years depende sa advice ng doktor.

✅ Importante ito dahil ang cervical cancer ay pwedeng maiwasan kung maagang natutuklasan.
