𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗢𝗯𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵

Last week, I attended “𝘞𝘦 𝘎𝘰 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥: 𝘖𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰” in Quezon City, a masterclass for doctors on obesity management. Why did I go? Because obesity is not only a medical term. It is a reality that affects many Filipino families I see in the clinic: parents worried about diabetes, children at risk for hypertension, young professionals feeling tired and heavy even at the start of their day.

Obesity is often misunderstood. Some say it is only about eating too much. But the truth is, it is more than that. It can come from long work hours that leave no time to exercise, from stress eating, from lack of sleep, or even from family history. And along with the weight, it carries silent risks like heart disease and high blood pressure.

Here are a few small but powerful steps we can take together:
✅ Move daily — even a 20-minute walk is a victory. Your heart will thank you.
✅ Watch liquid calories — sodas and sweet drinks may seem harmless, but over time they can weigh us down.
✅ Sleep well — our bodies heal and reset when we rest. Skipping sleep makes it harder to fight cravings.
✅ Check in with your doctor — every journey is different. Sometimes, having guidance makes all the difference.

Managing weight is not about chasing a perfect body. It is about protecting our health, enjoying more years with our loved ones, and regaining the confidence that life’s challenges may have taken away.

I am thankful to keep learning, so I can be a better doctor for you and our community. Together, let us take small but steady steps toward a healthier and more hopeful tomorrow. 💙

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲

On August 13, 2025, I joined fellow licensed doctors at Seda Vertis North, Quezon City for “𝙒𝙚 𝙂𝙤 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙: 𝙊𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤", a masterclass focused on obesity management.

Obesity is a growing health concern in the Philippines. As a General Physician, I believe it is important to stay updated with the latest evidence-based strategies so I can better guide my patients toward healthier lifestyles.

This training is not just about medical management. It’s about understanding the Filipino context, our habits, our challenges, and how we can support each other in preventing and addressing obesity.

Grateful for the opportunity to learn, and excited to bring these insights back to my patients and community. 🫶🏼

What a truly memorable evening for us physicians!

We felt deeply valued and are sincerely grateful for the warm hospitality of the Bayuganons during the Fellowship Night of the Philippine Medical Association Regional Convention held in Bayugan City on August 16, 2025.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Bayugan City LGU led by Mayor Kirk Asis, the City Tourism Office under Ma’am Charis Aniñon Patanao, this year’s host society—the Agusan del Sur Medical Society under the leadership of Dr. Loreline Pastor—the talented variety show performers, and everyone who worked behind the scenes. Thank you for making the event a remarkable success. 💖

After my pregnancy, I remember looking in the mirror and noticing the changes in my body. Along with them came insecurities I never expected. It made me realize many women go through this silently, yet not everyone has access to safe, professional care to bring back their confidence.

With the love and encouragement of my husband, my family, and my friends, and most of all, with the grace and Divine Providence of the Lord, I took a leap of faith. I started my practice as an Aesthetic Doctor here in our community, envisioning it as a place where people could care not just for their appearance but also for their health, self-worth, and inner joy.

Fast forward, just this month, we have celebrated our 1st Anniversary. From the first patient who trusted me, to those who keep coming back, every smile and every “𝘋𝘰𝘤, 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘵 𝘬𝘢𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵” has been worth it.
