𝗞𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗔𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Mariroc, Tabaco City, Albay, in partnership with Mariroc High School, spearheaded an HIV Awareness Seminar for the senior high school students of MHS on September 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM.

The event featured Mr. Joemari Bonagua, a case finder from the Sustained Health Initiatives of the Philippines (SHIP), as the resource speaker. In his talk, he emphasized the crucial role of the youth in advancing sexual health education and in addressing the growing challenge of HIV in the country. He underscored that young people are an essential sector in shaping a healthier future and in helping curb the progression of HIV.

The open forum was met with enthusiastic participation, as MHS students engaged actively with thoughtful questions and insights, demonstrating both their curiosity and commitment to learning more about the issue.

The speaker ensured to deliver an age appropriate context in delivering his sexual health education to the young population present during the event. He also encouraged the youth to be self aware and responsible to protect themselves.

Education is power. Protection is the key.

Region 5 Regional Feedback Meeting with our PR Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc. The session provided us with an opportunity to review our PROTECTS UPSCALE accomplishments in region 5 from January to June 2025, share updates, and discuss key learnings and next steps for our HIV project. Fellow SRs Love Yourself Champion Community Centers (GAYON Albay LGBT Organization Inc. and GentleMen Bicol for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Inc.), and IDEALS have joined us, together with our ever hardworking partners in Albay PHO, Legazpi SHC, Sorsogon SHC, and our ever supportive Bicol CHD thru our NASPCP Program Manager Mr. Samuel Banico.
