During a seminar, one of my colleagues, โGinaโ not her real name, courageously shared her painful story of being a battered wife, enduring years of violence in silence. But through immense strength and determination, she broke free from the chains of abuse and transformed her pain into power, becoming a powerful advocate for women and children in need.
Like Gina, we must find the courage to stand up, fight for our rights, and refuse to let our past define us. Together, we can heal, inspire change, and build a future where safety and justice prevail for all.
As the local chief executive of Braulio E. Dujali, a womenโs advocate and a lawyer by profession, I vehemently condemn violence against women and children.
This form of abuse continues to rob individuals of their dignity, safety, and future, leaving emotional, psychological, and physical scars that last a lifetime.
As a community, we must take collective action to protect the vulnerable and create an environment where every woman and child can live free from fear and violence.
Violence against women and children knows no boundariesโbe it in the home, the workplace, or the community. It can take many forms: physical, emotional, sexual, and even economic. This kind of behavior has no place in any civilized society.
We must continue to raise awareness, offer support to survivors, and work tirelessly to prevent such violence from occurring in the first place.
Our legal systems, social programs, and government institutions must strengthen the Anti- VAWC policies and advocacies.
We need to create safe spaces for victims to seek help without fear of stigma.
It is critical that we encourage victims to come forward and offer them the support they need.
We must also continue to educate our fellows and constituents that VAWC is a social illness and thus we need to end this.
Together, we can build a community of respect, compassion, and justice.
We need to help each other and fight and end VAWC.
Dasig!
