𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞: "𝐈𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫: 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬, 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞."

In the later part of the day, the volunteers took part in a series of engaging team activities designed to build trust, improve communication, and strengthen their bond as future youth leaders. The session encouraged collaboration and teamwork, key values that support the mission of VYLH.

Guided by their adviser, Mr. Franz E. Abkilan, RN, MAN the volunteers participated in games and challenges that promoted leadership, active listening, and creative problem-solving. These activities gave them a chance to connect more deeply with one another while developing important skills for future service.
The session highlighted the idea that great leadership starts with cooperation and unity. By working together, the volunteers gained not only a stronger sense of teamwork but also a deeper commitment to their role as youth advocates for health. The day ended with laughter, friendship, and renewed inspiration to serve with heart and purpose.

The day started with excitement and eagerness as the 𝐅𝐒𝐔𝐔 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 (𝐕𝐘𝐋𝐇) held its Team Building 2025. The volunteer nursing students, together with their adviser, Mr. Franz E. Abkilan, RN, MAN gathered for an important session filled with learning and planning.

This part of the activity focused on getting to know the group’s four main health advocacies: Folic Acid, Preconception Health, Newborn Screening (NBS), and Rare Diseases. Volunteers collaborated in groups to exchange ideas and plan upcoming initiatives that will promote these advocacies. These efforts are intended to raise awareness and enhance public knowledge about important health issues within the community.

This session reminded the volunteers that being a youth leader is not just about holding a title; it’s about having a heart to serve, the willingness to learn, and the courage to take action. It was a great start to a day full of purpose and teamwork.

The Volunteer Youth Leaders for Health (VYLH) Film Festival successfully brought together passionate young advocates, filmmakers, and storytellers to use the power of film in raising awareness about vital health issues. Through compelling documentaries, we witnessed stories of hope, resilience, and advocacy that inspire action and change.

A huge thank you to all the participants, organizers, and supporters who made this event possible! Your dedication to promoting health awareness and youth empowerment is truly commendable. Let’s continue using creativity and storytelling to make a difference in our communities!
