The curtains have closed, the lights have dimmed, but the echoes of applause and celebration still resonate from the grand success of the Araw ng Parangal, held during the 1st Volunteer Youth Leaders for Health (VYLH) Film Festival last April 4, 2025 at AVR 2, CBS, Fr. Saturnino Urios University (FSUU).
From start to finish, the event was a dazzling showcase of creativity, passion, and advocacy, all brought to life by the vibrant and talented youth who used film as a medium to promote health awareness, social responsibility, and positive change.
The highlight of the afternoon was the awarding ceremony, where recognition was given to the finest performances and outstanding contributions. Best Actor and Best Actress awards were proudly presented to those who captivated audiences with their powerful portrayals. Equally celebrated were the Best Supporting Actor and Actress, along with other special awards recognizing excellence in directing, cinematography, screenplay, and advocacy impact.
But beyond the trophies and titles, Araw ng Parangal stood as a tribute to youth empowerment, a platform where stories became tools for transformation, and young voices became agents of change. The energy, enthusiasm, and heartfelt dedication displayed by each participant proved that advocacy can be both meaningful and artistic.
As the first of its kind, the VYLH Film Festival has set the bar high, and Araw ng Parangal has carved its place as a milestone event that not only honors talent, but also uplifts purpose.
To everyone who took part, whether in front of the camera, behind the scenes, or among the cheering crowd, thank you for making this celebration a success. This is only the beginning. The reel keeps turning, and the stories continue to unfold.
