MISSION WARMLY ACCOMPLISHED
A Talk and Workshop on “Integration of Work-Life Balance for Teachers.”

with Rogelio A. Lee, Jr., MA, LPT
Director of Xavier Center for Mental Health and Research
Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan
June-July 2025

The Cagayan de Oro Network of Archdiocesan Schools (CONAS) under the Commission on Catholic Education headed by Rev. Fr. Mark Harvey T. Elloren, SSJV as OIC CONAS Superintendent conducted a two-day INSET (In-Service Training) for Teachers scheduled on June 5 – 6, 2025 at Cronin Hall, Cathedral Compound, Cagayan de Oro City. On the second day, last June 6, 2025 one of the guest-resource speakers was Rogelio A. Lee, Jr., the current OIC of the Xavier Center for Mental Health and Research (XCMHR) from Xavier University. Mr Lee gave a talk and facilitated a workshop on “Integration of Work-Life Balance for Teachers.” He gave valuable insights and enriched the program by providing participants with practical strategies in relations to the topic and in the field of education.

There were forty-seven (47) participants in the INSET and these are basic education teachers from six (6) participating schools in the Archdiocese, namely: Xavier Academy of Initao, Holy Child High School (Kinoguitan), San Roque Parish High School (Magsaysay), Holy Rosary Academy of Camiguin, St Joseph Academy of El Salvador, and Our Lady of Lourdes Academy of Claveria.

The session was successfully conducted with highly engaged participants. The teachers have expressed that they lacked work-life balance as most of them have prioritized their professional over their personal life. Through the workshop they have learned certain techniques on how to balance and manage their time efficiently in order to avoid stress and burn-out. They aim now of spending quality time with the self, family and friends. They have come to realize that achieving work-life balance is an ongoing process that requires intentional effort, boundaries, and self-awareness. Their ultimate goal at present is to maintain balance which would include improved health, productivity, relationships, and career satisfaction. They are hoping to apply those practical tips shared by the resource speaker as they go back to their mission areas.
