Last Saturday, we celebrated World Obesity Day with insightful lay lectures on metabolic health and high-energy fitness sessions, hosted by PCEDM and PCP–Northern Mindanao. It was a powerful reminder that the time to act is now.

With bimonthly exams finally behind us, there’s no better way to shake off the stress than getting back on our feet, literally.

Our Run Liver Run is officially back! Staying active doesn’t have to mean hitting the pavement. Home workouts, quick walks, or even a short stretch break between study sessions all count. What matters is showing up for your health, in whatever way you can.

So if you can’t join us this Friday, move your body anyway. But if you can… see you at the run! 🏃🏻‍♀️💛

Same time, same place.

The liver may be just one organ, but its impact reaches far beyond itself. 🫀🧠

As part of our advocacy, we had the opportunity to interview two specialists from Maria Reyna–Xavier University Hospital to better understand how liver health influences other vital organs.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Geraldine Garrido Pon, MD, FPCP, FPCC (Cardiology) and Dr. Gwen Garrido-Bagayo, MD, FPCP (Neurology) for generously sharing their expertise. Through their insights, we explored how the liver’s role in metabolism, circulation, and detoxification can significantly affect both the heart and the brain.

These conversations serve as valuable supplemental material for our advocacy, helping us highlight an important message: caring for the liver is not just about one organ—it’s about protecting the systems that keep our bodies functioning at their best.

Because when we take care of our liver, we take a step closer to truly living life to the fullest 💛

Liver Life to the Fullest: InfoDrive-Through 💛

Last March 7 at the Magis Atrium, we set up our Liver Life to the Fullest InfoDrive-Through booth, continuing our mission to deLIVER liver health awareness to the Xavier Ateneo community.

Students from different programs, alongside teachers, school staff, and canteen personnel, stopped by our booth to learn more about the liver—how it works, why it matters, and how everyday choices can help keep it healthy. What started as simple curiosity quickly turned into engaging conversations about prevention and better health practices.

True to our advocacy, we came ready to deLIVER, not just information, but interactive activities, quick learning moments, and prizes for participants who took on the challenge.

One booth, many conversations, and another step toward helping our community Liver Life to the Fullest!

We also extend our special thanks to Trust Your Gut of SGD 11 and Stop Kidney-ing Around of SGD 14 for collaborating with us and helping deLIVER health education beyond the liver. Together, we continue to promote awareness for a healthier community. 💪🏻

📸Infodrive-Through: Advocating for Liver Health

For the third time around, we brought our Infodrive-Through to the 3rd Year Biology students (Block YA) of Xavier University -Ateneo de Cagayan under the guidance of Sir Carl Hallazgo.

The activity served as an opportunity to revisit key principles of liver function and disease prevention, highlighting its vital role in metabolism, detoxification, and overall homeostasis. Discussions also emphasized how daily lifestyle choices can either support or compromise liver health.

We are grateful to Sir Carl for welcoming this initiative and for supporting health advocacy efforts within the block. Your openness to collaborations like this helps strengthen awareness grounded in science and responsibility.

As we continue this journey, we remain committed to promoting informed choices, prevention, and sustainable habits for better liver health. This advocacy grows stronger as we continue reaching and empowering the wider young adult community and beyond. 💛
