CONSULTATIVE MEETING AND TRAINING ON VISUAL IMPAIRMENT TO BE HELD IN CALAMBA, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL ON MAY 16-17, 2025.

Apil sa Consultative Meeting and Training ang Orientation and Mobility (O&M), Basic Assessment and Basic Therapy Collaborative Strategies.

Naay mga trainers from Perkins International-Asia Pacific Region. Gina-expect pod nga maka-attend ang representative sa Resources for the Blind (Low Vision Specialist) ug Occupational Therapist. Naningkamot pod nga naay ophthalmologist nga maka-join ana nga event.

Deadline sa pagdawat sa mga participants karong April 20, 2025.

Nanghinaut ta nga makahatag ug long-term solution sa atoang mga bata nga naay visual impairment.

Sa mga willing mu-apil na mga parents nga naay mga anak nga naay visual impairment (blind or low vision) ug sa mga pangutana or inquiries, please comment lang or post message diri nga page.

“SA MGA PARENTS NG NEWBORN BABIES, LALO NA SA PREMATURE BABIES, IF MAY GUSTO MANGHIRAM NG GOOSENECK LAMP AT OXYGEN, WILLING PO KAMI
MAGPAHIRAM”

Before kami lumabas ng hospital, sinigurado namin na may lamp at oxygen kami.

Sa mga manghiram, please alagaan nyo lang hà baka mày iba pang nag-need na gusto manghiram after ninyong gamitin.

“Child First, Disability Second”

Pasensya, hindi kami naka-upload ng journey ni Prim kasi nag-pacheck kami sa kanyang mga mata at sa other developments na din sa Cebu.

Pag-uwi namin, nagkasakit pa kami.

Ang hirap pag ang place natin hindi available ang Developmental Pedia (DevPed), Physical Therapist (PT) at Occupational Therapist (OT).

Kailangan pa talaga natin bumyahe ng Cebu o sa mga lugar na available sila. At hindi din biro ang gastos. Sa DevPed, 5k for consultation. 3k each naman sa OT and PT for assessment.

Paano na ang mga magulang na ‘yong place nila, walang available na DevPed, OT at PT at wala ding pangbayad?

Umaasa kami na sana mabigyan ng solusyon ang kakulangan ng mga specialists at umaasa din kami na baka may mga paraan na pwede itong maging affordable sa mga magulang, o kaya libre.

Alam namin na kahit may kapansanan ang mga bata, kaya nilang tumayo mag-isa, if may early intervention lang sana.

Umaasa ako na sa lahat ng probinsya, magkakaroon ng Center for Early Intervention kasi marami na din kaming na-oobserve na mga bata na nangagailangan neto.

“HINDI KAMI NA-INFORM O LATE NA KAMI NA-INFORM NG HOSPITAL O DOCTOR ABOUT ROP” - the uniform statement of parents.

On October 5, 2024, Prim’s Integrated Farm Page is created. Our Farm is named after our only child, Prim, who is diagnosed with ROP Stage 5.

If we knew from the start, the need of ROP screening to combat the possible loss of vision, we may avoid ROP from reaching Stage 5.

As parents, we tried almost everything, if not everything, to save Prim’s vision.

On November 12, 2024, we uploaded a video of Prim wearing glasses, which as of the writing, has more than 1.5 million views.

We also uploaded the videos of Prim’s Journey, from Part 1 to Part 5, which have almost 4.5 million total views and received numerous reactions and comments.

We are hoping that with Prim’s Journey, we will save the vision of our little warriors or our future warriors.

Let us unite together in spreading awareness.

Wala na dapat mabubulag dahil sa ROP.

Basin naa moy kaila nga developmental pedia nga pwede mi ma schedule sa Cebu or near Cebu karong November 28, 29 ug 30. Anytime lang jud ana.

The next part of Prim’s Journey will be uploaded next week.

Most of the uploads will focus on her travels abroad, her eye check-ups and her other developmental activities.

As parents, we are sharing her journey, to spread awareness.

Again and again, if only we knew Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) and its health implications, we already made actions, in our own initiative, to prevent it from reaching Stage 5, both eyes.

Sakit lang jud kaayo dawaton ang kamatuoran nga dili inborn ang ROP! Hope dako nga tabang ang iyaang Journey para malikayan jud ni.

For those who are similarly situated, laban lang tayo!
