Drive Smart, Arrive Safe 🚦 – Safety starts with you!
On September 10, 2025, the Candon City Police Station held a brief symposium on safe driving for students in Grades 10, 11, and 12 at Dr. Ricardo Gacula Memorial National High School. We are grateful that PLT Jovelyn R. Antalan visited the school and spoke as our guest speaker on this significant subject. Her team from the PIO/PCAD PCO of the Candon City Police Station also visited. The lecture highlighted the importance of children's safety on motorcycles, avoiding reckless driving, and being mindful of pedestrians and other motorists. Students were reminded that safe driving is not just for their own protection but also for the safety of everyone on the road. Never forget to drive safely, Gaculanians

Last Wednesday and Thursday, our Gaculanians from Grade 7 and 8 had the chance to attend a very meaningful and inspiring talk that focused on staying safe, making good decisions, and living a happy life. They received important advice on how to avoid harmful things like drugs, alcohol, and ma*****na, and were reminded that even the smallest choices can have a big impact on their future.

The session also encouraged them to value self-discipline, respect, and responsibility, especially when facing challenges and peer pressure. Our young Gaculanians learned that saying “NO” to drugs is not just about avoiding harm—it’s about saying “YES” to their dreams, goals, and a brighter tomorrow.

It was truly an eye-opening experience that gave our Gaculanians the chance to reflect on their path in life. The lessons shared will surely guide them as they grow, make decisions, and work hard toward becoming responsible and successful individuals.

A huge thank you to our PNP officer for taking the time to share wisdom, encouragement, and real-life guidance. Your words will surely inspire our Gaculanians to stay strong, stay safe, and stay on the right path. 💙👮‍♂️

Last Monday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Candon visited DRGMNHS to take part in the school’s flag ceremony. The police officers stood together with the teachers and students as they raised the flag and sang the national anthem. Their presence made the program more meaningful because it showed teamwork between the school and the PNP. After the ceremony, the PNP Candon also gave the Gaculanians a brief discussion about the dangers of illegal drug use and the importance of staying drug-free.

Pasadong exam gusto, review ayaw? Mga Gaculanians, let’s be honest — hindi sapat ang ‘good luck, kaya mo yan’ ni crush para ipasa lahat ng tanong bukas. Kahit gaano pa siya ka-sweet, hindi yun sagot sa Math problem o essay part. Kaya habang naghihintay pa kayo ng notif, gamitin niyo na rin ang oras para mag-review. Kilig is temporary, pero grades are permanent. 🌱✨ Tandaan, kilig + effort = harvest of passing grades.

The second day of Intramurals burst with action, cheers, and pure school pride! Gaculanians played their hearts out on the court and field, showing skill, teamwork, and respect for the game. Every match was packed with thrilling plays and unshakable determination.

With two days done, the excitement is only getting stronger — the battles ahead promise even more energy, unity, and moments to remember!

This year’s Intrams is proving that it’s not just about the games, but also about building friendships, inspiring one another, and creating memories that will last far beyond the final whistle.

Let's ignite the spirit of sportsmanship and unity🏆The intramurals are officially open today, August 11! Get ready to showcase your skills, teamwork, and school pride. Every game will begin after classes, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Let’s make this year’s intramurals unforgettable!

Hosted by Sir Johnny Habab, student leaders, and the MAPEH Club, the opening ceremony began with a parade, where students were proudly led by their stunning muses and dashing escorts! The MAPEH Club and its advisers performed an energetic dance specially prepared for the students.

The muses and escorts then introduced their teams, followed by a team yell! Each team went wild and loud, showing off their spirit and energy.

Towards the end of the program, Sir Jayson Bagaoi announced the winners of the various contests. Congratulations to the Blue Hawks for winning "Best Es**rt," and to the Green Raptors for winning "Best Muse"and "Best Yell!" Before the program ended, Mrs. Annalyn Galanto officially declared the intramurals open!

Today, the Dr. Ricardo Gacula Memorial National High School community came together for a Holy Spirit Mass, even as the rain poured outside. Sponsored by our Grade 12 students and teachers, the Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Divinus Sanctus D. Rabang.

Fr. Rabang delivered a heartfelt message, reminding us that the true treasure lies in the Kingdom of God. He emphasized that when we cherish Jesus in our hearts, He reciprocates that love and fulfills our deepest longings.

The warm atmosphere inside fostered a sense of togetherness, allowing students, teachers, staff, and parents to unite in a powerful expression of faith and gratitude, undeterred by the weather.

In celebration of Nutrition Month 2025, our school held a fun and meaningful Cookfest with the theme: “FOOD AT NUTRITION SECURITY, MAGING PRIORITY! SAPAT NA PAGKAIN, KARAPATAN NATIN!” The event highlighted both culinary skills and health awareness, with a special focus on rabong (bamboo shoots) as the main ingredient.

Participants included three students per grade level from Grades 7 to 12, each joined by an adult companion. Together, they prepared nutritious and creative dishes that showcased how healthy meals can be both delicious and accessible.

The Cookfest wasn’t just a competition—it was a celebration of healthy living, teamwork, and the value of traditional cooking. Huge thanks and congratulations to all the participants and organizers for making this event a success!
