Active TB Case Finding‼️

The Municipal Health Office of Maayon, led by Dr. Sandra Sorongon, conducted a free chest X-ray activity in partnership with the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. (PTSI) as part of its intensified TB control efforts. This activity aims to detect tuberculosis cases early, especially among high-risk and symptomatic individuals, to ensure timely diagnosis, proper treatment, and referral. Through active case finding, the initiative seeks to prevent the spread of TB, promote early health-seeking behavior, and contribute to a healthier, TB-free Maayon.

The Local Health Board of Maayon convened today, December 15, 2025, at the Municipal Health Office, Maayon, Capiz, to discuss key updates and reports vital to strengthening the delivery of health services in the municipality.

The meeting covered the following agenda items:

3️⃣ Legislative Matters for follow up
4️⃣ Hiring of Personnel (Radiologist, Radtech, Pharmacist)

Barangay Health Planning and Budgeting 2026 ‼️

In Photos | Dr. Sandra D. Sorongon – Municipal Health Officer, Mr. Joeffry M. Espiritu – DMO IV, and Mr. Bert F. Clorion – PHN served as resource speakers during the Barangay Health Planning and Budgeting held on December 10, 2025 at San Antonio Resort, Roxas City.

The activity featured the presentation of the 2024 accomplishments, identification of gaps, discussion on the Menu of Assistance, and the crafting of barangay-specific health plans based on identified needs.

Criteria for the upcoming “Pasidungog sa Ikaayong Lawas” for Barangay level were also presented in preparation for the January 2026 Barangay Night.

PK Team goes to the farthest sitio of Aglimocon ‼️

The PuroKalusugan Team of Maayon, led by Dr. Sandra Sorongon, brought essential health services to Sitio High, Aglimocon, Maayon, Capiz, today, December 5, 2025. This outreach focused on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Non-Communicable Diseases, Nutrition, and Cancer Prevention.

The activity aimed to raise community awareness, promote healthy practices, and provide early detection and preventive interventions to ensure that even the most remote households receive quality health information and care.

The Municipal Health Office of Maayon, led by Dr. Sandra Sorongon actively participated in the Fire Safety Orientation and Drill conducted by the BFP R6 Maayon Fire Station on November 24, 2025 at Maayon Primary Health Care Facility I. The activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and readiness of personnel in responding to fire-related emergencies. It sought to strengthen awareness of fire prevention measures, ensure familiarity with proper use of fire extinguishers, and practice safe and orderly evacuation procedures. Through this initiative, the MHO remains committed to promoting safety, preparedness, and resilience within the workplace and the community.

The Municipal Health Office of Maayon, led by Dr. Sandra Sorongon , actively participated in the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on November 24, 2025. The activity aimed to strengthen preparedness and ensure that all personnel are equipped with the right knowledge and skills in responding to earthquake emergencies. It also sought to enhance coordination among teams, promote quick and safe evacuation procedures, and reinforce awareness on proper safety actions such as “Drop, Cover, and Hold.” Through this drill, the MHO continues its commitment to fostering a safer and more resilient workplace and community.
