The recently conducted Drug Symposium held in ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐๐๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ, ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐, ๐๐ก๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฒ, proved to be an enlightening and impactful event, aimed to raising awareness about the effects of substance abuse among the youth. ๐๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐๐ฆ๐จ๐ง ๐. ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ซ๐ค ๐. ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐, who shared their expertise and personal experiences in educating and empowering our dear Sidlakans.
The symposium started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by an opening prayer and the singing of the Carcar City Hymn. As Mrs. Lucienne S Sumoray introduced the speakers the event formally started with an inspiring words from the first resource speaker, PMSgt. Baluca, a renowned advocate for drug awareness. He captivated the audience with his profound insights into the effects of drugs on individuals and society as a whole. He emphasized the importance of self-esteem and resilience in combating peer pressure and overcoming the temptations of substance abuse. Drawing from his own life experiences, PMSgt. Baluca shared his motivational narrative of perseverance and determination, instilling hope and encouragement among the learners
The second speaker, PCpl. Navacilla delved into a comprehensive discussion on the various types of drugs and their detrimental effects on the human body. With a wealth of knowledge in law, PCpl. Navacilla discussed the physiological and psychological impacts of drug consumption, highlighting the consequences of addiction. Furthermore, he provided valuable insights into the legal sentences associated with drug-related offenses, providing light on the laws and penalties imposed on offenders. His informative talk served as a reminder of the importance of making informed choices and following the law.
The symposium culminated in an engaging dialogue with the resource speakers, whose expertise and enthusiasm captured the learners' attention. Encouraging active participation, the speakers facilitated thought-provoking discussions fostering good learning environment. The students demonstrated commendable attentiveness and enthusiasm, actively engaging with the speakers and absorbing the knowledge given to them. It was evident that the symposium had a profound impact on the learners, equipping them with the necessary awareness and resources to make informed decisions and resist the pressures of drug abuse.
We are very grateful to our resource speakers and to their Technical Support Company as the symposium succeeded in empowering the Sidlakans with the knowledge and resilience needed to combat drug addiction, ensuring the well-being and prosperity of our future generations.
