And last but not least, smile and sound confident.

Tbh, these are all just reminders. A lot of things might happen during the interview. You may come prepared but the possibilities of you getting nervous and be distracted, be caught off guard and have trouble bouncing back and/or you might get intimidated, etc, etc. Yes, those may happen. Thus, presence of mind and being spontaneous is a huge plus.

Practice makes perfect? NO, for me - it is CORRECT PRACTICE, MAKES PERFECT.

Be specific when answering the interview questions.

Most of the time, questions are situational, so it is best to share past experiences. State what happened, what you did and what you learned from that experience.

Be expressive. Focus on how you can relate past roles and responsibilities to what they currently need.

Prepare for the questions.

Start with the most common interview question - Tell me about yourself.

Do a brief summary of your work experience, make sure to include job roles and responsibilities. Highlight learnings from those experiences.
Share your attributes in life and things you are fond of. Interests that you enjoy outside of work.

Make it personal. Share something that is not in your resume.

Know your Client.

Review and make yourself familiar with the job roles and responsibilities. It is best to research on your client's business/ company so you will be able to relate their goals to your own goals.

By doing so, you are taking ownership and showing your client on how proactive and resourceful you are.

Dress to Impress.

Eventhough it is a work from home set up, looking presentable during interviews is still a plus. It gives them the impression that you are passionate and are really committed in getting the job.

Just wear business casual. Fix your hair and wear light make up for ladies. Make sure you have enough lighting too.
And make sure to break a leg.

Don't be late. Join your meeting at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time.

Block your schedule. Not being able to attend because of whatever reason and asking for the interview to be rescheduled is a No-No and would give your client an impression that you are not committed for this job.

Rest well.

Have enough sleep prior to your interview schedule. Eat a nice meal. You can have your comfort food or any that will lighten up your mood.

Remember that you have to be at your best!

Familiar? How many of you have received this kind of email? I did. Lol. So, I understand the feeling of not meeting your expectations. You were hopeful you will get the chance because it looks like you meet the qualifications indicated in the job post. I know right, it is frustrating.

So, here I am. Sharing my experiences and hoping that somehow, I will be of help.
