PNP ARRESTS QC CARNAPPING SUSPECT VIA UNIFIED 911 CALL

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., acted on an emergency call received through the Unified 911 system, a public safety service under the Department of the Interior and Local Government led by Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla Jr. The response led to the arrest of a suspect in a motorcycle carnapping incident on Wednesday in Quezon City through CCTV-based tracking operations of Police Station 5, Quezon City Police District.

On May 5, 2026, PS5 received a Unified 911 report regarding a missing motorcycle. CCTV footage traced relevant activity back to around 4:00 AM of the same day, prompting immediate tracking operations. The complainant, a 27-year-old male resident of Barangay Greater Fairview, Quezon City, reported the incident.

Through continuous CCTV backtracking and forward tracing, operatives identified and arrested the suspect at around 4:30 PM in front of No. 36 Datsun Street, Barangay Greater Fairview. The suspect is a 23-year-old male resident of Barangay North Fairview, Quezon City, known by the alias “Pangga.” The stolen motorcycle was recovered during the operation.

The suspect was processed and turned over to the District Tactical Operations Center for documentation and inquest proceedings. The case will be filed before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Law of the Philippines.

The operation highlights the PNP’s Focused Agenda, particularly in strengthening police operational response and enhancing crime response capability through real-time reporting systems and CCTV-assisted investigation, ensuring immediate action on reported incidents and faster resolution of property-related crimes.

PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said: “Immediate response to emergency reports allows us to resolve incidents and recover stolen property. We assure the public of firm police action on all complaints.”

“Ang agarang aksyon ng pulisya ay mahalaga sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan at seguridad. Tinitiyak ng PNP ang tuloy-tuloy na serbisyo laban sa krimen,” he added.

As the PNP continues its intensified anti-carnapping operations under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported the successful conduct of two anti-smuggling operations on the evening of May 6, 2026, resulting in the seizure of illegal goods worth over ₱8.2 million and the arrest of two individuals in Misamis Oriental and Zamboanga del Sur.

In Opol, Misamis Oriental, personnel of the Opol Municipal Police Station under Police Regional Office 10 (PRO 10) acted on intelligence reports and verified suspected illegal stockpiling in Barangay Limonda. Authorities discovered about 1,500 sacks of suspected mineral ores valued at ₱2,535,000.00. One Filipino male of legal age was arrested, while other individuals fled upon arrival of the operating team. The suspect and items were brought to the police station for proper disposition.

In a separate operation in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, operatives from the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit, Pagadian City Police Station, and RMFB9 intercepted suspected smuggled ci******es through an intelligence-driven operation.

Confiscated were 92 master cases of Diamond ci******es, 7 master cases of Guiyan ci******es, and 1 master case of Huanghelou ci******es, with an estimated value of ₱5,730,000.00. A male Filipino of legal age was arrested during the operation.

The PNP said these accomplishments support the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen law enforcement against smuggling and protect the country’s economy. The operations are also in line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for their quick response, saying the police force will continue to act on verified intelligence to stop illegal activities at the source.

“Hindi tayo titigil sa pagsugpo ng smuggling at iba pang ilegal na gawain. Ang layunin natin ay protektahan ang ekonomiya at ang publiko,” he said.

The PNP assured the public that similar operations will continue nationwide as part of its sustained campaign against illegal activities, in support of Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
