This is a stitching technique where the sutures are placed under the skin, instead of on top. By closing the wound from beneath, the skin edges are brought together precisely and gently, without excessive pulling or tension.
Because the tension is spread evenly within the deeper skin layers, the wound is able to heal in a more controlled way. This helps reduce inflammation and lowers the risk of thick or visible scars.
The result?
✔ No visible “dot” stitch marks
✔ Smoother, finer scars
✔ Cleaner and more natural-looking healing
This technique is commonly used in OB-GYN procedures, including cesarean sections, to support better long-term scar appearance. While no scar can be completely invisible, how a wound is closed plays a major role in how it heals.
