𝗦𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆, 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆. ❤️

This Heart Month, the CTU Main Medical Clinic team reminds all students and employees that sleep plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy heart.

Adequate, quality sleep keeps both your mind and heart in balance. It helps regulate blood pressure, supports cardiovascular function, improves concentration, stabilizes mood, and enhances daily performance.

Insufficient sleep, especially when chronic, may increase the risk of hypertension, heart disease, stress, fatigue, and reduced mental clarity.

Protect your heart. Protect your health.

Recommended: 7–9 hours of sleep per night.

𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬: 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀

In line with our Heart Month Activity: Blood Glucose Screening, the CTU Main Medical Clinic would like to raise awareness about Diabetes Mellitus and the importance of knowing your blood sugar levels.

What is Diabetes?

Diabetes is a condition where the blood sugar level is persistently high, either because the body does not produce enough insulin or cannot properly use insulin. If not detected early and managed properly, it may lead to serious complications affecting the heart, kidneys, eyes, nerves, and blood vessels.

Common Risk Factors:

• Family history of diabetes
• Overweight or obesity
• Sedentary lifestyle / lack of exercise
• Unhealthy diet
• High blood pressure or high cholesterol
• Stress and poor sleep

Common Symptoms:

• Frequent urination
• Excessive thirst
• Increased hunger
• Fatigue
• Blurred vision
• Slow wound healing

(Many individuals have no symptoms, which is why screening is very important.)

Why Get Your Blood Sugar Checked?

✔ Early detection
✔ Prevention of complications
✔ Better heart protection
✔ Healthier lifestyle decisions

❤️ Heart Month Reminder:

Healthy sugar = Healthy heart.
Taking care of your blood sugar is one of the best ways to protect your heart and overall health.

The Safe is Sexy: A Love Month Special afternoon session is currently taking place at the CTU Main Gymnatorium, featuring an insightful lecture by Engr. Teresita Capin, GAD Chairperson. The session centers on gender sensitivity, respect, consent, and anti-sexual harassment awareness, reinforcing the importance of creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive academic environment.

Through guided discussions, NSTP students are being empowered to recognize inappropriate behaviors, uphold personal boundaries, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. As healthcare professionals, we strongly advocate for these conversations as essential components of holistic student well-being.

Because health extends beyond physical care, it includes emotional safety, dignity, and respect.
