May mga araw na nakakaramdam ako ng pagkapagod, dinadala ang bigat ng bawat mahirap na pagpipilian, bawat gabing walang tulog, bawat pag-aalala na ang buhay ay hindi naging patas o simple, at pagkatapos ay tumingin ako sa aking anak at ang pagkahapo ay natutunaw sandali. Sa kanyang mga tawa, maliliit na tagumpay, sa paraan ng kanyang paglaki at pagmamahal, nakikita ko ang patunay na hindi maikakailang tama ang nakuha ko. Ipinapaalala niya sa akin na sa gitna ng lahat ng kaguluhan, pagkakamali, lumikha ako ng munting mundong puno ng pagmamahal, at ang pakiramdam ng tahimik na tagumpay ay pumupuno sa akin ng labis na pasasalamat na halos mapaluha ako. Sila ang nakikita ng puso ko. 💛

We saved a lot of money because I chose breastfeeding.
But don’t call it FREE.
The real price was paid by me.

The cost was my body.
My sleep.
My hormones.
My rest.
My nights.
My mental health on days no one saw.

There was no receipt for the pain.
No refund for the exhaustion.
No break for the moments I cried silently while still giving everything.

Breastfeeding didn’t save us money—
it just transferred the cost to me.

So if someone says “breastfeeding is easy and just free,” remember what it actually costs:

Cracked, painful skin that still feeds her baby.
Hormones crashing and rising without warning.
Sleepless nights rocking and feeding a baby while fighting my own exhaustion.
And my mental health, when I felt invisible and still showed up, because someone always needed me more.

It was never free.
