How do you want to feel today?

I stopped grabbing my phone the second I wake up, and everything changed.

The first few minutes of your morning are powerful. Your mind is open, your body is calm, and you get to choose how you show up before the world gets loud.

No phone.
Clear intention.
Slow breathing.
Feeling the day before it starts.

These are my most potent rituals
for getting out of my head
and back into my heart
This is ILA ILA 🌀

Try this for 7 days and see what shifts 🤍

Nature has a remarkable way of calming the mind. Study finds that your brain cannot stay stressed while looking at a fern because of its natural fractal pattern, showing how simple visual experiences can reduce tension and promote relaxation.

Fractals are repeating geometric patterns found throughout nature, from ferns to snowflakes. These patterns provide predictable visual information, which the brain interprets as safe and harmonious. When we focus on these shapes, neural activity associated with stress and anxiety decreases, while areas linked to calm and focus become more active.

The calming effect isn’t just psychological, it’s physiological. Observing fractal patterns can lower heart rate, reduce cortisol levels, and help regulate the nervous system. Even short exposure, like a few minutes of observing a fern or natural fractal images, can significantly improve mood and mental clarity.

Practical ways to benefit include spending time in green spaces, visiting gardens, or simply studying natural patterns in your surroundings. You can also use images or artwork featuring fractals to create a calming environment at home or work.

Ultimately, this research highlights the powerful connection between nature and brain health. The simple act of observing a fern or other fractal patterns can naturally reduce stress, improve focus, and support emotional well-being, proving that the beauty of nature has a direct, measurable impact on the mind.

I’m unlearning the idea that rest is a reward.

Showing up for myself now means:
– slowing down before my body forces me to
– feeding myself with care
– walking just to feel my feet on the ground
– choosing presence over productivity

I’m learning that slowing down is the work.
Regulating my nervous system.
Coming back into my body.
Listening instead of pushing.

This is ILA ILA 🌀
the practice of getting to know yourself through how you live, small, honest choices. And somehow, that feels like the most important work I’ve done.

If you’re here, maybe your body is asking for the same 🤍

"You are the unconditioned spirit trapped into conditions, like the Sun in eclipse."

~Rumi

The Primordial Silence Before you were a name, a story, or a wound, you were the Light. This "unconditioned spirit" is the vast, open sky of awareness that doesn't ask for permission to exist. It is not something you achieve; it is what remains when you stop trying to be someone. It is the Sun that never truly sets, even when the world turns its back.

The "conditions" are the gravity of the human mind—the relentless movement to define, to protect, and to become. Your thoughts and labels are like the Moon: cold, rocky, and temporary. They slide in front of your Radiance, casting a shadow that you mistake for your own soul. You feel small, cold, and eclipsed, forgetting that the shadow is only proof of how brightly you are actually shining.

The Great Awakening We spend our lives trying to "fix" the darkness, not realizing that the Sun requires no repair. To wake up is to realize you are not the darkness falling over the land; you are the Light that makes the shadow possible. The eclipse is not an end; it is a celestial pause. When the mind finally tires of its own movement and steps aside, you discover you were never trapped at all. You were simply the Infinite, momentarily captivated by the beauty of its own disappearance.

"You are terrified of being "nobody," but that is your truth. From the moment you are born, the world tries to give you a name, a form, a prestige. They are dressing up a vacuum. You spend your whole life protecting this "somebody," but this somebody is just a shadow. The moment you realize you are a vast, infinite nothing—Shunya—the entire universe begins to celebrate within you. Nothingness is not emptiness; it is "no-thing-ness." It is the womb of all creation. When you stop identifying with thought (ego), you appear as the whole. To be nothing is to be the stars, the ocean, and the wind. Don't be a drop; be the ocean that has realized it is the drop." - Logan Barone
