In celebration of World Immunization Week, the Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development strengthens its commitment to protecting every child through life-saving vaccines.

Regional Director Joshua G. Brillantes emphasizes that vaccination is a shared responsibility among families, communities, and health partners in preventing disease and saving lives.

Vaccines are safe and effective in protecting children from vaccine-preventable diseases. Health centers are ready to provide services and support routine immunization.

In line with our commitment to ensuring adequate and safe blood supply, a successful Blood Letting Activity was conducted, generating 90 successful donations from 108 aspirants, while 18 were deferred following proper medical screening.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Philippine Red Cross Cebu Chapter for the invaluable collaboration and technical support.

Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to all volunteer donors and our dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) for their active participation and assistance in making this life-saving activity possible.

The 22nd Oral Health Month Celebration was successfully conducted at Pajo Elementary School through the efforts of the Department of Health - Central Visayas in collaboration with Daanbantayan Primary Care Facility, headed by our designated Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Marielle Dominique Malaga, and Municipal Dentist, Dr. Alei Ygot.

We were honored by the presence of Dr. Jonathan Neil Erasmo, Assistant Regional Director OIC of Department of Health โ€“ Central Visayas, together with the dentists under the Dentist Deployment Program.

As part of the celebration, toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed to the students to promote proper oral hygiene and reinforce the importance of maintaining good oral health from an early age

The Daanbantayan Primary Care Facility, alongside Barangay Health Workers and immersion students, successfully executed an entomological field survey in Barangay Bitoon earlier this morning.

An entomological survey is the systematic collection and study of insectsโ€”like mosquitoesโ€”to understand their breeding sites and population. This activity is a key part of the DOHโ€™s dengue prevention program, helping identify high-risk areas so that timely control measures can be implemented to protect our community from dengue.
