Good day dear parents! This is Dr Choco Dimacisil of SJD Pediatric Clinic.

I would like to announce that i will TEMPORARILY not hold clinic at UDH and RBM Clinic in Parang starting April 10, 2023 (Monday) until further notice.

I will be having additional training in Pediatrics to better serve your children in the future.

For your child’s concern, I would gladly endorse your kids to Dr Hasmina Pagayao - Chio. Her clinic is located at Door 4, 2nd Floor Shahada Commercial Building (in front of Palawan Pawnshop), SK Pendatun Avenue, Cotabato City. You may also contact her secretary 09554503843.

Healthy habits during baby’s first year of life. 👶🏻

It's best to start teaching our little ones healthy habits as early as possible! Here are some healthy habits for your baby's first year of life.

1. Feed on Demand

Breastmilk is sufficient for your baby's needs in the first 6 months of life.

2. Good Sleep Habits

Recommended hours of sleep (with naps):
0-3 months: 14-17 hours
4-11 months: 12-16 hours
12 months: 11-14 hours

3. Start Solids When Ready

When your child shows signs of readiness, offer age-appropriate foods while breastfeeding is continued.

4. No Screen Time

Early exposure to TV and cellphone is not advised. Instead, offer story time, sing along or read books to your child.

5. Let Them Move

Do tummy time once your baby becomes more active. Allow your child to move without assistance to encourage independence.

Crying or fussiness is a transient and normal infant behavior. On average, babies cry 2 hr/day, peaking at 6 wk of age. The peak period usually occurs in the evenings and early part of the night. Excessive crying of fussiness persisting longer than 3-5 mo may be associated with behavioral problems in older child, but it is uncertain which is cause or effect.

Management of crying/fussiness should include teaching caregivers about precry cues and responding to the signal for feeding in a calm and relaxed manner, creating a nondistracting environment, as well as swaddling. Mother-infant skin to skin contact and carrying the infant may also be beneficial.

Well-child visits are a time when parents can check up on their child’s health and make sure they are growing and developing normally. Well-child visits usually start a few days after children are born and continue until they turn 18.

During a well-child visit, your doctor will:

• Perform a physical exam
• Give the child any necessary shots, such as immunizations or vaccinations
• Track how your child is growing and ask about development and behavior
• Talk about illness prevention, nutrition and physical fitness, and health and safety issues
• Talk about how to handle emergencies and sudden illness
