SOCCSKSARGEN General Hospital Welcomes DOH Officials for Facility Review and Development Planning

SOCCSKSARGEN General Hospital (SGH) received Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Dr. Gregorio T. Murillo Jr., Undersecretary for the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP), during an official visit today, January 07, 2026, which aimed at assessing the hospital’s current facilities and future development directions.

Accompanying Undersecretary Murillo was Regional Director Aristides C. Tan, MD, MPH, CESO III, Director IV of the DOH Center for Health Development (CHD) SOCCSKSARGEN, along with members of the HFEP Team. The visit highlighted the DOH’s ongoing support for improving hospital infrastructure and expanding access to quality healthcare services in the region.

Discussions and on-site inspections focused on the status of existing facilities, HFEP-supported projects, and proposed development plans intended to further enhance SGH’s capacity to deliver safe and efficient patient care. The activity provided an opportunity to identify priority areas for improvement and align future initiatives with the evolving healthcare needs of the community.

The engagement emphasized the importance of collaboration between national and regional health offices in ensuring sustainable and responsive healthcare delivery. Recommendations gathered during the visit will serve as valuable inputs in strengthening SGH’s development roadmap and advancing quality health services throughout SOCCSKSARGEN.
