“With my Kuya, I have an extended family for life.” Deo et Patria

This quote is a reminder that true brotherhood goes beyond blood. Having a Kuya — a trusted elder brother or mentor — means never walking alone.

It means standing together in service, in loyalty, and in faith, bound by a promise to uplift each other and our country. It reminds us that in unity, we find strength, and in brotherhood, we find home.

In celebration of Nutrition Month, the Cloud 9 Siargao Eagles Club, under the banner of Caraga Region III of The Fraternal Order of Eagles - Philippine Eagles Inc., initiated a community service initiative entitled "Alalayang Agila: Feeding Program 2025". The meaningful event was successfully conducted on July 11, 2025, at the Teatro Nan Dapa Municipal Stage, in strong collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Dapa and the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Dapa.

A total of 100 identified malnourished children from the Poblacion barangays of Dapa were the beneficiaries of the program. The initiative aimed to promote good nutrition and raise awareness about the role of the community, especially parents, in the fight against malnutrition. The activity underscored the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration in improving child health outcomes.

The program commenced with Hemoglobin Testing and Vitamins Distribution, facilitated by the dedicated personnel of the Rural Health Unit of Dapa. This served as a vital step in monitoring and addressing the health needs of the child participants.

Hon. Myrna P. Catulay, RM, Sangguniang Bayan Member and Chairperson of the Committee on Health, warmly welcomed all guests, partners, and beneficiaries.

A message of support was delivered by Hon. Marian T. Solloso, Sangguniang Bayan Member, who emphasized the importance of community efforts in addressing malnutrition.

The Inspirational Message of Hon. Elizabeth T. Matugas, Municipal Mayor of Dapa, was delivered through her representative, Hon. Carlito Dones, Sangguniang Bayan Member, highlighting the LGU’s support for health and nutrition initiatives.

Representing the Cloud 9 Siargao Eagles Club, Hon. Mackenley A. Tesiorna, a fellow club member and Sangguniang Bayan Member, expressed the club’s commitment to service and shared words of encouragement.

Mr. Earl Matthew F. Uy, RN, also a Cloud 9 Siargao Eagles Club Member, delivered a Message of Support alongside a Short Lecture focused on the responsibility of parents in safeguarding the nutritional status of their children.

The event concluded with a Keynote Address and Closing Remarks from Dr. Noemi Peavy A. Lagura, MD, Municipal Health Officer of Dapa, who reinforced the importance of sustainable interventions in child nutrition.

As a token of gratitude and recognition, the Rural Health Unit of Dapa awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to the Cloud 9 Siargao Eagles Club for their unwavering support and continued commitment to community service.

Following the formal program, the feeding proper commenced. Children were provided with nutritious meals, lovingly prepared and served through the joint efforts of the RHU and Department of Health HRH personnel, alongside the enthusiastic participation of the Cloud 9 Siargao Eagles Club members.

The event ended on a hopeful note, with children fed, parents educated, and communities inspired. The activity stands as a testament to the power of unity, compassion, and shared responsibility in building healthier and stronger communities for future generations.

A General Membership Meeting (GMM) is more than just a requirement — it is a sign of our shared commitment and brotherhood.

When we, as Eagles, come together with eagerness and purpose, we do more than reach a quorum — we spark ideas, strengthen bonds, and move our organization forward. Progress happens when everyone shows up, ready to listen, share, and act.

This quote reminds us that our presence and participation are our real strength.
