Blessed Sunday 🥰
I love going through my old Instagram posts. I read the captions and try to remember what prompted me to do so, how I felt then, who were the people involved, etc. It reminds me of the principles that I live by, my views and my beliefs. It makes me assess how I handled a situation and my boundaries.
Once, I thought, “how come I seem to have forgotten about these principles?” And, of course, I answered my own question: it’s not that I’ve forgotten them. It’s just that they don’t all apply to every situation I face nor does each of these situations make me question all of my principles, views or beliefs at once. Like a file for recipes - I only take out the ones that I need.
I’ve always believed that we have different definitions of success and that when it comes to material stuff, we have different inclinations. This week, these beliefs were further inculcated in me and it evolved to include self-care.
1. In the different aspects of life we are on different stages, different levels, different starting points so our needs are different.
2. I believe that there should be a balance between all life aspects. However, we prioritize/weigh each of these aspects differently. Some of us give more importance to those that either give us security/happiness or those that feel comfortable because it’s what we’ve been used to. For some of us who are consciously striving for this balance, we regularly evaluate where we currently are in these aspects and give more importance to those that will eventually lead us to achieve this balance.
3. There are a hundred and one ways to care for one’s self. Just because one person chooses to do it differently doesn’t make them, nor you, wrong.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to respecting these differences. There’s no need to compare. If that is their path, then so be it. Keep to your lane with no judgment and get on with your own journey.
Have a blessed Sunday 🥰
