Another day, another surgery.

This handsome teenager was referred to us by his dentist in Lupon, Davao Oriental.. a small town around 120 km away from Davao City. His scans revealed what we call a compound odontoma, a type of odontogenic tumor characterized by multiple toothlike structures, PLUS an impacted canine on the palate. All were removed painlessly and efficiently with our electric surgical motors, and the large bone cavity was grafted to prevent a defect with the use of Platelet Rich fibrin from his own blood to optimize healing…

This lovely charming lady, 70+ years young, referred to us from Western Mindanao, had a benign but very disfiguring tumor. We were able to excise the tumor without resecting her mandible, and her 3 month recall xrays showed very good healing. Next step is to reconstruct esthetics, speech and function of her upper teeth, and then at the 6 month mark, do planning for possible implant supported, patient specific titanium prosthetics on the lower jaw to make sure Maam enjoys her senior years with full use of her teeth.
