Preventive Health Initiatives for Nurses: PNA NCR Zones 4 & 5

Protecting the Nursing Workforce Through Immunization and Preventive Care

The Philippine Nurses Association – NCR Zones 4 & 5 successfully conducted the Free Pneumococcal Vaccination for Nurses on January 15 and 22, 2026, marking one of the zone’s initial initiatives focused on advancing the health, safety, and long-term welfare of nurses within its jurisdiction.

The activity involved administration of the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13), providing durable immunologic protection against invasive pneumococcal disease and supporting evidence-based preventive health measures for the nursing workforce. The initiative benefited nurses from Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Rizal Medical Center, San Juan Medical Center, Tri-City Medical Center, Pasig Doctors Medical Center, ACE Medical Center, and Jose Rizal University, reflecting strong inter-institutional collaboration.

This program signifies the beginning of a sustained series of welfare-focused initiatives by PNA NCR Zones 4 & 5, anchored on preventive care, occupational health, and workforce resilience. By prioritizing scientifically grounded health interventions, the zone reinforces its commitment to protecting nurses and strengthening their capacity to deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate patient care.

The officers extend its sincere appreciation to all partner institutions and participating nurses for their trust and active engagement. PNA Zones 4 & 5 remains committed to serving its nursing community through responsive, evidence-based, and sustainable programs.

We have sent the required post-program survey via email to all the attendees. We kindly ask everyone to complete it, as it forms part of the requirements for us to process your CPD units.

Your e-certificates will be released 3–4 WEEKS AFTER THE PROGRAM. Please allow the Secretariat enough time to generate, validate, and ensure that all attendee requirements have been met.

PNA NCR Zones 4 & 5 at the PNA National Convention 2025

The Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) NCR Zones 4 & 5 proudly recognize Jezrelle Arauag, Chapter Secretary, and Jepe Urate, NOMELEC Member, for their exemplary service as part of the Technical Working Committee during the PNA National Convention 2025, held at the SMX Convention Center, Lanang, Davao City on October 21–23, 2025.

The convention gathered more than 3,000 delegates from across the nation, exemplifying the efficient collaboration between the PNA Davao Chapter, as host, and NCR Zones 4 & 5, whose teamwork and dedication contributed to the success of this national gathering.

During the House of Delegates (HOD) meeting on October 22, 2025, Arby James Abonalla and Col. Arlene Mandal of NCR Zones 4 & 5 successfully defended and gained approval for their resolution advocating for the mental health and well-being of nurses, with the strong support of HOD National Julien Flores—a milestone that reinforces the profession’s commitment to caring for those who care for others.

Adding to the celebration, Governor Janice Bunsoy was re-elected to her second term as Board of Governor (BOG) for NCR Zones 4 & 5, and also proudly received the official PNA Accreditation for the Zone—an affirmation of her steady leadership and the chapter’s continued excellence in organizational governance and professional development.

These collective achievements highlight the unwavering spirit of unity, leadership, and service that define PNA NCR Zones 4 & 5—One PNA, One Vision, One Heart for the Filipino Nurse.
