SPMC Nephrology Fellows Clinch Victory in Quiz Bowl at PSN Annual Convention

In a thrilling display of knowledge and teamwork, the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) Nephrology Fellows emerged victorious in the
Quiz Bowl "Bato Bato Pick" during the prestigious Philippine Society of Nephrology (PSN) Annual Convention 2025.

Representing SPMC with excellence and enthusiasm were Dr. Arthur Davin and Dr. Neil Miras, who demonstrated impressive mastery of nephrology concepts and quick thinking under pressure. Guiding them throughout their preparation and performance was their dedicated coach, Dr. Herceda, whose mentorship and support played a pivotal role in the team's success.

The competition brought together the brightest nephrology minds from across the country, making the win a significant achievement for the SPMC team. Their victory not only reflects their academic excellence but also highlights the strength of the training and mentorship provided by the institution.

Congratulations to Dr. Davin, Dr. Miras, and Dr. Herceda for bringing pride to SPMC and setting a high standard for future fellows!

Under the theme, “PSN TRANSCENDS 2025: Transforming Renal Care through Ethics, Novel Developments and Standards”, the 45th PSN Annual Convention Scientific Committee was led by our very own Dr. Franklin Guilllano along with key members Dr. Jennifer Togonon - Leaño, Dr. Mark Tom and Dr. Rachelle Ciudadano - Manalaysay. Together they meticulously curated an extraordinary scientific program, offering deep dives into AI in Renal Care, Glomerular Disease Management, Novel Precision Diagnostics, Environmental Challenges in CKD and Ethical Dilemmas in Nephrology.

Beyond the science, what truly stood out was the spirit of collaboration - researchers, clinicians and policymakers uniting to bridge the gaps, challenge norms and inspire progress. Congratulations to the team for making this event a resounding success - one that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the practice of nephrology and the lives of those we serve.
