As much as we like to be of service to our patients, we dentists are also at high risk in contacting and spreading COVID-19 virus. We are directly handling saliva and aerosols coming from the patients' mouth, scalers and handpieces. That is why the Philippine Dental Association has instructed dental clinics stop operation since the ECQ was implemented. We are still preparing for the re-opening of clinics after ECQ by purchasing PPEs and other equipments needed. For emergency dental cases, we can refer you to a clinic/hospital that is fully equipped in handling patients. For now we offer free online dental consultation through viber 09174624122. U.K. scientists found that those who had moderate to severe gum disease (periodontitis) had a 22% increased risk for high blood pressure, and those with severe gum disease had a 49% higher risk.
