The School of Midwifery successfully conducted a Youth Symposium on HIV Awareness and Adolescent Health on December 10, 2025, at Silawe National High School, in partnership and close coordination with the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Polanco.
This symposium aimed to educate and empower the youth by providing accurate information, awareness, and guidance on pressing adolescent health concerns such as teenage pregnancy, drugs, smoking and alcoholism, mental health awareness, and HIV/AIDS education and prevention.
🎤Lecturers and Resource Speakers:
Fares B. Dagpin, EM, MPH – Teenage Pregnancy
Benjie M. Valdez Jr. – Drugs, Smoking, and Alcoholism
Jennylynda O. Magtuba, RN – Mental Health
Marcelito N. Dela Cruz, RN – HIV/AIDS
Through the expertise and commitment of our lecturers and health professionals, the students were encouraged to practice responsible decision-making, develop healthy lifestyles, and become more aware of sexual and reproductive health rights.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Silawe National High School, the RHU of Polanco, our speakers, organizers, and the enthusiastic students who made this activity meaningful and successful. Together, we continue to build a more informed, empowered, and healthy youth.
