This chronic condition happens when the immune system sends the ๐ฌ๐ง๐ค๐ฃ๐ signals ๐จโ telling the skin to regenerate way too fast โฉ. Instead of the usual 28โ30 days, skin cells turn over in just 3โ5 days! ๐ณ

๐ฌ The Disease Process:
1. Immune System Activation: Psoriasis begins when the immune system becomes overactive, particularly T-cells, which are a type of white blood cell. These T-cells mistakenly attack healthy skin cells as if they were fighting an infection.
2. Inflammation and Skin Cell Overproduction: The activation of T-cells leads to the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-ฮฑ and IL-17. These cytokines stimulate the rapid production of skin cells, causing them to accumulate on the skin's surface before they can mature properly.
3. Formation of Plaques: As new skin cells are produced too quickly, they pile up on the surface, forming the characteristic red, scaly patches of psoriasis.
๐ Raising Awareness:
๐ Letโs look beyond the surface and support those living with this misunderstood condition. Awareness brings compassion ๐ค.
