Lian has the skin condition called psoriasis. It is a worldwide problem among a percentage of every population. Many of them are turned down for job applications with people thinking the affliced are contagious. Hindi nakakahawa ang psoriasis and may gamot para dito. Face to Face helped Lian for a job and with family and friends. She also helped everyone else understand that there must be no discrimination against people with this condition. 1. Immune System Activation: Psoriasis begins when the immune system becomes overactive, particularly T-cells, which are a type of white blood cell. These T-cells mistakenly attack healthy skin cells as if they were fighting an infection.

2. Inflammation and Skin Cell Overproduction: The activation of T-cells leads to the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-α and IL-17. These cytokines stimulate the rapid production of skin cells, causing them to accumulate on the skin's surface before they can mature properly.

3. Formation of Plaques: As new skin cells are produced too quickly, they pile up on the surface, forming the characteristic red, scaly patches of psoriasis.
