CASE TODAY: REPLACEMENT OF OLD DENTURE

Patient visited us to have a new set of dentures.
Chief complain: "parang wala akong suot na pustiso kapag nagsasalita"

Upon checking, her old denture is no longer occluding properly making her teeth 'slanted' when smiling and loose when talking.

After multiple visits, our patient can finally smile and engaged with others confidently🥰

Tooth restoration

Upon dental assessment and consultation, our patient mentioned that everytime she laugh or even talk she keeps on holding her mouth to hide her smile. She even experienced being bullied because of her teeth.

We discussed her treatment plan with multiple options to gain back her confidence in interacting with others. She opted to fix it immediately ending up to direct tooth restoration.

Here she is finally redeeming her confident smile.

PLAQUE 🆚️ TARTAR

Tooth plaque = bacteria in mouth ➕ s️ugary foods.
These bacteria release acids that break down carbohydrates in food and drinks. If you don’t brush your teeth soon after eating or drinking, the combination of bacteria, acids and carbohydrates can mix into a sticky, colorless film called plaque.

Meanwhile,
Tartar is hardened plaque. If you don’t remove plaque regularly, it will turn into tartar which you can’t brush or floss it away. Only a dentist or hygienist can remove it. Dental calculus is another name for tartar.
