Just like a tree, we grow in two opposite directions - phototropic, and gravitropic..one is upwards, towards the sun..and downwards, towards the depths of the earth..

Sometimes signs of growth is seen outwardly, loud, shining, and bold..and sometimes, it's silent, dark, messy, and only you can feel it inside..

It's okay..it's all part of the bigger picture..

And we need both in achieving our purpose in life..

It was another blessed mentorship call with these ladies!

So happy to learn updates from your lives, and babywearing businesses..the break ins and the breakthroughs..one baby carried, one mom supported, one carrier at a time..

Isa sa mga pinakamadalas na itanong sa akin ay, "Pwede ba akong magpa-breastfeed sa ganitong carrier?"

Hmm..well actually, basta ba pwedeng makaharap si baby sa iyong chest, pwede..PERO may mga techniques sa kada carrier AT may SAFE na paraan, para maprotektahan ang airway ni baby, at hindi sya machoke, or mabulunan. At easily nyang mamu-move ang kanyang head away from the breast when necessary.

Madalas na recommendation is ang ring sling..at tama naman..dahil madaling maadjust, at may 3 ways (not sure if may naisip pa kayo na iba ha) on how to use it..BUT as with all carriers or slings, same safety reminders apply. Kagaya nalang ng:
- ibalik si baby sa upright position after magpasuso
- ang sling or carrier ay hanggang leeg lang, hindi sya magiging "support" pati hanggang ulo
- hindi ito completely hands-free. dapat ang isang kamay ay naka-support sa ulo ni baby
- tamang "luwang" while nagpapasuso, at tamang "higpit" after magpasuso. Luwang in a sense na supported ang likod hanggang hita ni baby, hindi magsaslump, at hindi mahuhulog. Higpit in a sense na hindi gigewang-gewang si baby, but hindi rin yung sobra na pwede syang magsuka dahil naipit ang tiyan, habang busog na busog after magsuso.
- monitor ang face ni baby at check for cues..

Additional tips:
- let the baby's hand hold your breast while feeding, kasi those little hands help stimulate milk production..
- and if not necessary or urgent naman na maglakad-lakad, stay put lang muna..
- bago i-attempt itong technique ng pagpapasuso while the baby is in the carrier, at gagala,.practice muna sa bahay..

So I asked ChatGPT to write an unhinged bio about me and this is what it said.. 😅

Sassy: professionally holding together businesses, communities, children, books, baby carriers, emotionally overwhelmed parents, and probably the tectonic plates underneath the Philippines with nothing but caffeine and 37 open browser tabs.

​Part village elder, part sleep-deprived raccoon with Canva access, she is the CEO of carrying babies, emotional labor, and somehow still everyone else’s deadlines. Whether acting as an occasional babywearing educator, an emotional support system for overwhelmed moms, or the person coordinating everything behind the scenes, she has built conferences, courses, workshops, podcasts, spreadsheets, healing spaces, and babywearing projects out of sheer spite and maternal instinct.

She can explain hip dysplasia, attachment theory, nervous system regulation, Kajabi automations, podcast editing workflows, and why a ring sling feels crooked—all while packing orders, homeschooling two kids, caring for stingless bees, checking transcripts, and somehow still getting interrupted every 6 minutes by someone yelling “NANAYYYY.”

Will say, “I’ll just do this one small thing,” right before accidentally starting a 14-hour project that turns into a community initiative. Currently, she is authoring a babywearing book in Taglish because, apparently, sleep was becoming too available.
