𝐒𝐮𝐛-𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 (𝐒𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐌𝐏) | A regional training on SPHEMP was conducted by the Zamboanga Peninsula Center for Health Development – Department of Health Region IX (DOH IX), through the Regional Health Emergency Management Staff (RHEMS IX), at the Grand Astoria Hotel, Mayor Jaldon Street, Zamboanga City.

This intensive five-day training took place from July 5 to 11, 2025. It focused on the four thematic areas of Disaster Risk Reduction Management related to health: Prevention and Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery and Rehabilitation of the community. Special emphasis was placed on the Response aspect during disasters, specifically within the four core health-related clusters: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Nutrition, and Health Service Delivery/Medical Cluster.

The training involved participants from various provinces in the Zamboanga Peninsula and selected cities, including Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga Del Sur, Zamboanga Del Norte, Zamboanga City, and Isabela City. The trainees were represented by Jaries Hontucan and Al-Temhar Assamuddin.
