The PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) Region VI–Capiz conducted a monitoring and assessment visit to Camp Peralta Station Hospital (CPSH), one of the 220 PhilHealth YAKAP-accredited healthcare facilities in Region VI. The visit was led by Dr. Eric Gabriel Gerald C. Marabiles, Medical Specialist I of PhilHealth LHIO–Capiz.

The activity aimed to assess CPSH’s compliance with accreditation requirements, evaluate the implementation of the YAKAP Program, and identify areas for improvement to further enhance healthcare service delivery. This initiative forms part of PhilHealth’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that accredited facilities consistently meet YAKAP standards while delivering quality, accessible, and patient-centered healthcare services.

During the visit, members of the LHIO–Capiz team, Ms. Jixie Mae E. Salinas, SIO I, and Ms. Yhuly Ann B. Jamelarin, Administrative Aide VI, conducted a comprehensive discussion on the YAKAP Program. They emphasized its objectives, current policies, and implementation strategies, while providing valuable insights on proper documentation, service delivery standards, and quality assurance measures.

The team also provided hands-on guidance to CPSH personnel on the proper utilization of the PhilHealth Check Utility — a PhilHealth member portal that enables individuals to verify their PhilSys registration, confirm their PhilHealth membership status, and ensure the accuracy of member information. This initiative is expected to streamline patient verification processes, improve service efficiency, and facilitate better access to healthcare benefits for qualified beneficiaries.

COL JUSSEL F. PARLAN (MC) GSC PA, Commanding Officer of Camp Peralta Station Hospital, warmly welcomed the PhilHealth LHIO–Capiz Team and expressed his sincere appreciation for their visit and technical assistance. He acknowledged that the monitoring activity and the guidance provided were instrumental in identifying opportunities for improvement and reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare services. He further emphasized that CPSH values its partnership with PhilHealth and remains dedicated to upholding YAKAP Program standards for the benefit of its patients and beneficiaries.

UNDERSTANDING INFLUENZA (H3N2) "SUPER FLU"
From Camp Peralta Station Hospital, spearheaded by COL JUSSEL F PARLAN MC (GSC)

With confirmed cases of the Influenza A (H3N2) variant—often referred to in recent reports as "Super Flu"—detected in parts of the country, it is vital to stay informed about the symptoms, modes of transmission and steps to take if exposed. While the Department of Health (DOH) notes that this variant is manageable and self-limiting for most, its symptoms can be more intense than the typical seasonal flu.
Stay informed. Help spread awareness.
