The Department of Surgery of WVSUMC will be hosting this month’s assemblage. We have invited a well distinguished speaker to talk on a relevent topic: OCCUPATIONAL BURNOUT.

We are privileged to present Dr. Jonee Flores, a distinguished Anesthesiologist recognized for her extensive clinical background and exceptional proficiency in her field. A proud graduate of West Visayas State University – College of Medicine, Dr. Flores completed her residency in Anesthesiology at WVSU-Medical Center.

She has held prominent leadership positions, having served as Chairperson of the Department of Anesthesiology in The Medical City Iloilo (2010–2015) and Holy Mary Women’s and Children Hospital (2018–2020). Currently, she serves as the Training Officer of the Department of Anesthesiology at WVSU-Medical Center.

Dr. Mylo Soriaso is a highly esteemed Orthopedic Surgeon, well-known for his broad clinical exposure and in-depth specialization in spine surgery. A proud graduate of the West Visayas State University – College of Medicine, and currently serves as a Professional Lecturer, actively contributing to the education and training of future physicians.

He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at West Visayas State University Medical Center and pursued further specialization in Pediatric Orthopedics and Spine Surgery at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Singapore General Hospital, respectively. His commitment to continuous learning led him to expand his expertise through advanced training in Minimally Invasive Lumbar and Cervical Spinal Surgery at China Medical University Hospital in Taichung, Taiwan.

Currently, Dr. Soriaso holds the position of Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics at WVSU Medical Center. He is a Fellow of both the Philippine Spine Society and the Philippine Orthopedic Association, and is an active member of the Philippine Medical Association and the Iloilo Medical Society.

Dr. Roumilla Mendoza is a distinguished Pediatric Gastroenterologist renowned for her broad clinical background and advanced expertise in her field. A proud alumna of the West Visayas State University – College of Medicine where she served the college as previous Associate Dean. Dr. Mendoza completed her residency in Pediatrics at West Visayas State University Medical Center, pursued advanced specialization in Pediatric Gastroenterology at Philippine General Hospital and later obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Management from UP Visayas.

She is a Fellow of both the Philippine Pediatric Society and the Philippine Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, reflecting her strong professional commitment and recognition in the field. She also believes in the important role of scientific research in improving our healthcare system by promoting evidence-based medicine.
