Physicians From The Koronadal Internists Society (KIS) Advocate for Healthy Sleep
Physician volunteers from the Koronadal Internists Society (KIS) of the P*P Soccsksargen Chapter held a series of informative lectures aimed at promoting better sleep habits and understanding the importance of quality rest for global health among students of Koronadal National Comprehensive High School (KNCHS) last March 2024.
Under the theme “Sleep Equity for Global Health” 12 experts delivered insightful talks on March 5, 14, and 21, covering various aspects of sleep health. They were led by Dr. Katherine Paras, a sleep medicine expert and the current KIS president.
The lectures emphasized the critical role of adequate sleep in promoting optimal health and improving academic performance. “We took the initiative to make sure teens get enough sleep every night to promote optimal health, improve their attention and learning behavior in school, and to have a positive attitude toward life in general” said Dr. Paras.
The success of the event highlighted KIS’s commitment to raising awareness about healthy sleep habits and fostering a culture of well-being within the community.
As the celebration wrapped up, KNCHS expressed its dedication to continuing efforts to promote healthy sleep habits and overall wellness among its students and staff.
