Our strength lies in our people.
Typhoon Emong tested the resilience of La Union, but it also showed where the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center draws its true strength—from our dedicated employees. Despite personal loss and hardship, our administrative staff, nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, and technical teams continued reporting for duty to ensure that our services never stopped.
We also stood strong because of the unwavering support of our partners:
🔰The Provincial Government of La Union, under the leadership of Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega, for mobilizing crucial resources to help sustain hospital operations.
🔰The Department of Health – Center for Health Development I, headed by Dr. Paula Paz M. Sydiongco, MD, MPH, MBA, CESO IV, for consistent support and donations of much‑needed medications—particularly doxycycline—to help fill critical gaps in our supply chain.
🔰The Department of Public Works and Highways – Region I, under the leadership of Regional Director Ronnel M. Tan, CESO III, for organizing clearing operations immediately after the typhoon, removing fallen trees and debris that were blocking access to the hospital during a time of limited manpower and equipment.
🔰The La Union Electric Company, for restoring power to the hospital while most of the province remained without electricity.
🔰The DBP Data Center Inc., our hospital information system provider, for helping restore our digital systems to support operations during recovery.
🔰Our internet service provider partners, for quickly reestablishing internet connectivity so we could continue processing claims and reports seamlessly.
🔰Our trusted suppliers, for ensuring uninterrupted delivery of medical and operational supplies despite logistical challenges.
Most importantly, we thank our patients and their families—your continued faith in us inspires our work every day.
All these efforts were made possible through God’s grace. May He bless every individual who worked, helped, or prayed for our community’s recovery.
