May 6-9, 2025

The Local Government Unit of Merida headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Engr. Rolando M. Villasencio thru Rural Health Unit by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Jose Bernabe M. Figueroa conducted Basic Training Course for Barangay Health Workers . This activity aim to capacitate our barangay healthworkers in providing basic health care services and to have better health care system in the municipality.

We extend our thanks and appreciation to the DOH-EVCHD for sending us their teams thru PDOHO LEYTE headed by Dr. Antonio Ida with Maam Elsie Jaca -DMO assigned to Merida, Maam Angela and Sir Rick. Your kind assistane is highly appreciated.

The Local Government Unit of Merida, spearheaded by our Municipal Mayor Engr. Rolando M. Villasencio, through the Rural Health Unit headed by Dr. Jose Bernabe M. Figueroa, will once again conduct a bloodletting event in partnership with Philippine Red Cross Isabel Chapter.

Your blood donation can make a life-saving difference for patients in need.

Ang Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease o HFMD kay makatakod nga sakit nga dala sa virus. Makuha kini gikan sa paghikap sa kontaminado nga butang o gamit sa tawo nga adunay HFMD, pagpangatsi ug pag-ubo, ug suod nga pakig-uban sa tawo nga adunay HFMD.

Kadaghanan sa mga kaso sa HFMD maayo ra ug iyaha, ug dili makamatay kung ang hinungdan enterovirus nga Coxsackievirus A16 (CA16), apan mahimong mograbe ug mahimong meningitis, encephalitis, ug paralisis nga sama sa polio kung dili maatiman dayon, nga usahay moresulta sa kamatayon, kung ang hinungdan Enterovirus 71 (EV71).

Kung ang inyo mga anak adunay mga simtomas sa HFMD ipa check up dayon sa Doctor.

Paglikay:

1. Hugasi ang mga kamot gamit ang sabon ug tubig, ug gamit ug alcohol-based sanitizer, sa tanang higayon, labi na sa ospital ug sa panimalay;

2. Likayi ang pagpahulamay sa mga personal nga gamit sama sa kutsara, tasa, ug kubyertos;

3. Gamit ug saktong personal protective equipment (pananglitan, saktong gidak-on sa face mask, gloves, ug gown) kung mag-atiman sa pasyente nga adunay HFMD; ug

4. Sundon ang Minimum Public Health Standards (MPHS), labi na kung magpangatsi ug mag-ubo, ug ingon man ang physical distancing.

Ang sakit na HFMD (Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease) ay isang nakakahawang sakit na dulot ng virus na umaapekto sa lahat ngunit mas madalas itong nangyayari sa mga bata. Karamihan sa mga kaso ng HFMD ay kusang gumagaling, at hindi nakamamatay kung sanhi ng enterovirus na Coxsackievirus A16 (CA16), ngunit maaaring lumala at maging meningitis, encephalitis, at paralisis na parang polio kung hindi maagapan, na minsan ay nagreresulta sa kamatayan, kung sanhi ng Enterovirus 71 (EV71).

A. Pag-iwas

1. Maghugas ng kamay gamit ang sabon at tubig, at gumamit ng alcohol-based sanitizer, sa lahat ng pagkakataon, lalo na sa ospital at sa bahay;
Palakasin ang mga hakbang sa pag-iwas at pagkontrol sa impeksyon sa lahat ng lugar;

2. Iwasan ang paghihiraman ng mga personal na gamit tulad ng kutsara, tasa, at kubyertos;

3. Gumamit ng tamang personal protective equipment (halimbawa, tamang sukat ng face mask, gloves, at gown) kapag nag-aalaga ng pasyente na may HFMD; at

The Department of Health Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-EVCHD) invites all eligible populations to avail of FREE FLU and PNEUMOCOCCAL VACCINATION tomorrow, 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟵:𝟬𝟬 𝗔𝗠 𝘁𝗼 𝟯:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠.

The following 𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 are encouraged to come and get vaccinated:

𝗙𝗟𝗨 𝗩𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲
1. Senior citizens aged 60 and above
2. People with increased risk of exposure to influenza, including healthcare workers and individuals who provide frontline services;
3. Pregnant Women;
4. Adults with chronic and certain comorbidities, such as;
a. Immunocompromised due to certain
medications and
diseases such as HIV/AIDS
b. Asthma, heart, and lung diseases
c. Endocrine diseases such as diabetes
d. Kidney and liver disorders
e. Metabolic disorders
f. Neurological
and
neurodevelopmental disorders
g. History of stroke
5. Other healthy adults.

𝗣𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 (𝗣𝗣𝗦𝗩𝟮𝟯)
1. All senior citizens 60 years of age and above shall receive 1 dose of PPSV23.
2. Senior citizens who received a dose of PPSV23 within the last 5 years and were under 60 years old at the time of vaccination shall receive an additional dose of PPSV23.
3. Adults aged 20 to 59 with the following medical conditions;
a. Chronic renal failure congenital or acquired asplenia
b. Congenital or acquired immunodeficiency (including
B-[humoral] or T-lymphocyte deficiency, complement deficiencies particularly C1, C2,C3, and C4 deficiencies, and phagocytic disorders [excluding chronic granulomatous disease ])
c. Generalized malignancy, HIV infection, Hodgkin disease
d. latrogenic immunosuppression
e. Leukemia, Lymphoma, Multiple myeloma, Nephrotic syndrome
f. Sickle cell disease and other hemoglobinopathies
g. Solid organ transplant (excludes persons with hematopoietic stem cell transplants)

PAALALANG PANGKALUSUGAN AT KALIGTASAN SA HARAP NG BAGYONG PEPITO

PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY No. 2024-028 | November 15, 2024

Ayon sa pinakabagong ulat ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), ang Eastern Visayas ay kabilang sa mga rehiyong nasa General Flood Advisory dulot ng papalapit na bagyong Pepito (Man-Yi). Inaasahan itong magdadala ng malalakas na pag-ulan, bugso ng hangin, na maaaring magdulot ng pagbaha at iba pang panganib gaya ng posibleng storm surge.

Dahil dito, mahigpit ang paalala ng DOH-EVCHD na mag-ingat at maging handa sa paparating na bagyo.

Mga Dapat Tandaan sa Panahon ng Bagyo:
1. Ihanda ang Go Bag – Tiyakin na ang inyong Go Bag ay may pagkain, hygiene kit, ekstrang damit, first aid kit, cellphone at charger, pera, at ID. Alamin ang pinakamalapit na evacuation center para sa agarang paglikas kung kinakailangan.
2. Iwas sa Sakit – Kung malubog sa baha, agad na maghugas ng kamay at katawan gamit ang sabon at tubig upang maiwasan ang leptospirosis. May sugat man o wala, kailangang maghugas o maligo agad gamit ang tubig at sabon pagtapos malubog sa baha. Kapag ligtas na, agad ring komunsulta sa doktor para sa tamang reseta ng gamot.Siguraduhing maligo pagkatapos.
3. Manatiling Updated – Sundan ang mga abiso mula sa inyong LGU at agad na umaksyon ayon dito. Alamin ang storm signal para malaman ang lakas ng hagupit ng hangin dahil sa bagyo at ang rainfall warning para malaman ang dami ng ulan at posibildad na pag baha
4. Paghahanda para sa Storm Surge – Sa posibilidad ng storm surge o biglaang pagtaas ng tubig-dagat, magplano ng maagang paglikas patungo sa mas mataas na lugar o evacuation center. Panatilihing ligtas ang bahay sa pamamagitan ng pag-akyat ng mga mahalagang gamit sa mas mataas na parte ng tahanan.

Ugaliing sundin ang mga abiso mula sa PAGASA, Municipal/City/Provincial/ Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (M/C/P/PDRRMC), at DOH-EVCHD upang masiguro ang kaligtasan at kalusugan ng inyong pamilya.
