🎄✨ BHW Year-End 2025 Christmas Party ✨🎄

The BHW Year-End 2025 Christmas Party was happily held on December 22, 2025 (Monday), 9:00 AM at the Carigara LGU Roofdeck, bringing together our dedicated BHWs from 8 BHS, BHS Midwives, DOH HRH, and health partners for a celebration filled with joy, laughter, games, and exciting prizes. 🎁😄

The program was highlighted by inspiring motivational messages from Hon. Joenlee Larraga, SB Member & Committee on Health Chairperson, together with Hon. Vilma Domus, uplifting and encouraging everyone to continue their selfless service. The rationale of the activity was shared by Ms. Roxanne Emping of DOH EVCHD PDOHO–North Leyte, while meaningful learning insights on Firecracker Injury Prevention Month were discussed by Mr. Patty Bullecer, reminding everyone to stay safe this holiday season.

Graced by MHO Dr. Ma. Bella Profetana, PhilHealth Coordinator Ms. Maricel Pore, BHW Coordinator Ms. Nelita Naldo, and other committed health workers, the event became more memorable through fun-filled games, shared laughter, and festive bonding, celebrating not just Christmas but the dedication and unity of our health frontliners. 💙👏

Purokalusugan extends services through health education on Teenage Pregnancy Prevention and HIV/AIDS Awareness to Grade 11 students of Jugaban National High School.🌸

The 2-day Health Education Activities held on November 27 and 28, 2025 unfolded as a significant learning experience for the Grade 11 students of Jugaban National High School.

On the first day, 170 students gathered with eagerness to deepen their awareness of Teenage Pregnancy Prevention and HIV/AIDS, followed by another 175 students on the second day who shared the same enthusiasm for learning. Throughout the symposium, the voices of the distinguished resource speakers—Ms. Divina Galo, a Midwife from the Department of Health, and Mr. Christian Sumalinog—guided the participants with clear, evidence-based insights and practical knowledge. Their sessions created an environment where students listened attentively, asked questions, and reflected on the importance of making informed choices.

The smooth and successful flow of the activity was made possible through the leadership of School Principal Mr. Leo Macasusi and the steadfast support of Ma’am Jillian and Ma’am Van, whose commitment ensured that every detail contributed to a meaningful and impactful educational experience.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON FLU AND PNEUMOCOCCAL VACCINE SUPPLIES

Public Advisory No. 2025-044 | November 21, 2025

In line with the departments commitment to upholding transparency in public health, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-EV CHD) informs the public that Influenza vaccines are currently unavailable at the DOH.

Individuals who wish to receive and avail influenza vaccines are advised to visit the nearest private clinic or healthcare facility offering the service.

Further, senior citizens who wish to avail themselves of the pneumococcal vaccine may proceed to the nearest Rural Health Unit (RHU) or barangay health center, while stocks last.

The DOH-EV CHD encourages everyone to stay vigilant and continue practicing preventive measures to protect against influenza-like illnesses.

The Municipality of Carigara convened its youth on November 18, 2025 at 9:00 AM at the LGU Liga Hall for a vital Symposium on the Ill Effects of Teenage Pregnancy and HIV/AIDS Awareness. This initiative aimed to deepen young people’s understanding of the health, social, and emotional consequences of early pregnancy, while also strengthening their knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention and responsible decision-making.

With Mr. Charlie Falguera, Chairman of the Midwifery Department of UP SHS Palo, Leyte, serving as the resource speaker, the symposium provided evidence-based insights and meaningful guidance to equip the youth with the awareness they need to make safer and wiser choices for their future.

The event became more than just a lecture—it was a shared experience that empowered the youth to make informed choices for a healthier and more responsible community.
