What to know about wisdom teeth?🦷

Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars that most people get in their late teens or early twenties. Sometimes these teeth can be a valuable asset to the mouth when healthy and properly aligned, but more often, they are misaligned and require removal if an impacted wisdom tooth causes pain, infection or other dental problems. Some dentists and oral surgeons recommend removing your wisdom teeth, even if they aren't causing problems. Brushing these teeth can be difficult. Food and bacteria can get stuck between the wisdom tooth and the tooth next to it, leading to tooth decay and gum infections called pericoronitis.
