From SkolarMD:

Brain aneurysms are also called "silent killers" as patients often have no symptoms until their aneurysm bursts. Skolar MD shares what you should know about brain aneurysms 👇

🔴What is brain aneurysm?
Cerebral (Brain) aneurysms are defined as dilations that occur at weak points along the arterial circulation within the brain. The majority of cerebral aneurysms are SILENT and may be found incidentally on neuroimaging or upon autopsy (upon death).

🔴Who are AT RISK for brain aneurysm?
Most cerebral aneurysms are acquired lesions, with an increased incidence in patients with certain risk factors such as advanced age, hypertension, smoking, alcohol abuse, and atherosclerosis.

Incidence is significantly increased in patients with a strong family history of aneurysms

🔴What are the SIGNS and SYMPTOMS?
Unruptured cerebral aneurysms are asymptomatic and are therefore unable to be detected based on history and physical exam alone.

However, when ruptured, they commonly present with a sudden onset, severe headache. This is classically described as a “thunderclap headache” or “worse headache of my life.”

🔴How is it diagnosed?
Screening may be done with with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerized tomographic angiography (CTA), or conventional angiography.

REPOST from SkolarMd:

“Saan nagkulang ang aking pagmamahal?”

If you know someone who cheated (or if you did), take a look at our list of why people cheat and comment down the reason why they cheated.

Let’s take a quick look into the psychology of cheating and learn why people cheat (even those who seem to have a picture-perfect relationship).

Infidelity is the leading cause for divorce and break-ups and may trigger domestic violence. It is also a strong predictor of poor mental health, depression and anxiety. Given that there are a lot of negative consequences to cheating, why do people cheat? Saan nagsisimula magbago ang lahat? Sino ang hindi sapat? Saan nagkukulang ang pagmahahal?

1) Falling out of love 😞

2) Feeing neglected - some people cheat because of their partner’s lack of affection. More women than men recognized this motive for cheating.

3) Feeling bored - some people cheat because of their desire for variety. More men than women expressed this as a reason for their infedility.

4) Situational - like in partying, inuman, karaoke, work trips, group outings where people are thrown in opportunities they didn’t anticipate. More men than women identified this as a reason for cheating.

5) To boost self-esteem - for some, having an affair can boost their ego and self-esteem

6) To punish partner or enact revenge

Other reasons include not feeling committed which leads to falling out of love and sexual desires (not being compatibe sexually).

According to Johns Hopkins, Monkeypox is a rare viral infection in most of the world, so much so that clinicians in many countries can go their entire careers without seeing any cases. Yet a recent uptick in seemingly unconnected cases throughout Europe and North America has raised some warning signs about the potential for community spread. This is still being investigated, but for now, here are some basic facts about the virus.
