For counseling: bit.ly/itcs_book-counseling In Touch Community Services (ITCS) is a leading provider of professional counseling services, a telephone Crisis Line and cross-cultural orientation programs. In Touch was established in 1980 and is a non-profit, non-governmental organization servicing the well

- being of the community. Originally developed with the aid of the United States Embassy, the aim of In Touch was to provide newly-arrived expatriates with information about resources in the Manila community and to assist them in understanding and appreciating cross-cultural issues. In 1984, In Touch extended its information and referral outreach to the Filipino community through its anonymous telephone-based Crisis Line. At that time, few counseling services existed in Manila especially free and confidential services to assist people who experience stress, anxiety and other challenges in daily life. In the years since, In Touch has trained hundreds of volunteers to respond professionally and compassionately to all Crisis Line callers. While there are several organizations catering to the physical needs of the community, In Touch is one of the few organizations whose activities focus on mental and emotional well-being. We understand these are not tangible, but we cannot overemphasize their importance and consider our services vital to serving the Manila community.

⏱️ 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲-𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸! How many hours have you been on your phone today?

We’re meant to live our lives, but on some days it feels like all we do is survive. When we get too caught up in our problems or inside our own heads, we can slip into survival mode without even realizing it.

It may show up as exhaustion, racing thoughts, or a pounding heartbeat even when we’re at rest. Sometimes, it can also look like endlessly scrolling through our phones.

Here is a story many of us know too well. How does this one end?

This Stress Awareness Month, turn stress into your secret advantage 💡

Feeling stress in short periods can be an advantage as it pushes you to focus and adapt. But remember, long-term stress can cause you to burnout, have a worsened mental health condition, and acquire physical illnesses and diseases.

Hence, balance is key to prevent long-term stress 🩵

Thank you to our volunteers, Dane, James, and Bea, for bringing this post to life!

In Touch Community Services invites adult individuals interested in mental health advocacy to our Volunteer Program. We fully support the notion that advocating for mental health is not exclusively reserved for those with a background in psychology. Together, we’ll embark on a journey of learning and collaboration in promoting mental health and emotional well-being. The opportunity areas in our Volunteer Program are:

- Training to become Crisis Line volunteers
- Content creation related to psychoeducation and mental health awareness
- Supporting the development and facilitation of our learning sessions and workshops
- Being involved in ad-hoc community engagements

📆 Applications are open until May 14, 2026.
🙋‍♂️ Sign up now: bit.ly/itcs_volunteer or scan the QR code!

Note: Only those who complete the form will receive further instructions. For inquiries, email volunteer@in-touch.org.
We will also be accepting a select number of volunteers for this cycle. No worries, we open 3 cycles a year: February, June, and October.
