For counseling: bit.ly/itcs_book-counseling In Touch Community Services (ITCS) is a leading provider of professional counseling services, a telephone Crisis Line and cross-cultural orientation programs. In Touch was established in 1980 and is a non-profit, non-governmental organization servicing the well- being of the community. Originally developed with the aid of the United States Embassy, the aim of In Touch was to provide newly-arrived expatriates with information about resources in the Manila community and to assist them in understanding and appreciating cross-cultural issues. In 1984, In Touch extended its information and referral outreach to the Filipino community through its anonymous telephone-based Crisis Line. At that time, few counseling services existed in Manila especially free and confidential services to assist people who experience stress, anxiety and other challenges in daily life. In the years since, In Touch has trained hundreds of volunteers to respond professionally and compassionately to all Crisis Line callers. While there are several organizations catering to the physical needs of the community, In Touch is one of the few organizations whose activities focus on mental and emotional well-being. We understand these are not tangible, but we cannot overemphasize their importance and consider our services vital to serving the Manila community.

“Paano ko siya matutulungan?” During tough times, maybe all a person needs is someone to hear them out.

This September 10, we recognize World Su***de Prevention Day where we continuously raise awareness, open healthy conversations, and take preventive measures to help the people we care for who may be struggling alone.

Preventing su***de isn’t limited to the professionals—anyone can play a part in making a difference, whether through active listening, open-mindedness, or simply staying present with them. You can be the support they need during these trying times.

While we don’t know what silent battles one is going through, you can make a difference by starting the conversation, one listening ear at a time.

🎗 If you or someone you know needs a listening ear, In Touch offers a free and confidential hotline, available 24/7:

Last August 30, the 10th batch of our undergraduate interns held their batch project webinar, Barbie World, Real Bodies: Intertwining Women’s Reproductive Health and Mental Health!

Dr. Nueva Perucho of In Touch Community Services, Inc. shared valuable insights on women’s experiences with Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS), Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), and Endometriosis, highlighting how these conditions not only affect the body, but also deeply influence one’s mental well-being.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in this important conversation on reproductive health and mental health!

As we wrap up our series on substance use and recovery, we’d like to highlight one simple but powerful practice: Digital Detoxing.

Taking intentional breaks from screens can help reduce stress, improve sleep, and create more space for genuine connections with yourself and others. And even small steps can make a big difference in your mental health and recovery journey. 🌱

Healing isn’t just about breaking harmful habits; it’s also about creating space for healthier ones 🩵

💬 “Paano Ko Siya Matutulungan?”
This Su***de Prevention Month, we’re opening space for a conversation many of us have quietly struggled with:

How do we support someone we care about when they may be going through suicidal thoughts?

This Kapihan is for anyone who wants to help — to feel more confident in supporting a friend, family member, classmate, or coworker who may be struggling.

We’ll talk about how to recognize warning signs, start caring conversations, and guide someone toward getting help — while also reflecting on the barriers that can make it difficult to speak openly.
