Dear Self,
I know you’re struggling right now. You’re becoming more and more dissatisfied with where you are. You’re at a turning point.
You’re starting to realize what you no longer like and what you really like. How you want to be treated. How you want to feel about yourself when you’re alone or with others.
You’re craving for something new that also feels deeply familiar.
You’re struggling because it’s hard to let go of the old ways—people, places, practices—that have almost defined you. That have become you.
But you’re also struggling because you want to see where you’ll end up once you let go and start choosing differently.
Is it really going to be better?
You’re losing and gaining at the same time. As you say yes to one thing, you say no to many.
With your heart and gut leading you—yes, not your calculating, evidence-seeking mind—trust that you’re capable of facing whatever lies ahead as you leave the past behind.
The path will reveal itself as you walk into it, into what feels true for you. You walk right into yourself by sitting and talking and looking at yourself every day. By taking care of your needs, listening to your feelings, voicing your observations.
It’s important that you make space for the new: the true you.
That job, neighborhood, partner, friend, habit, clothing that has been draining you… let them go. So you can fill your life with what truly fulfills you.
You’ve got this.
You can be audacious while afraid. You can keep walking while shaking. You can keep speaking while stammering and searching for the right words.
Keep going. Keep going. Keep going.
Your happier, healthier self is waiting for you. Meet this self—the one who decides and takes action.
Even when it gets hard, boring, or lonely. It’s temporary.
Meeting your true self will set you free. Trust me.
Love,
Yourself
