Sharing another inspiring skin healing journey today 💕

This patient with severe palmoplantar eczema came to the clinic with thick scales and multiple painful fissures that made walking and daily activities difficult.

Contact dermatitis is more than just a simple rash. It’s your skin reacting to something it doesn’t agree with. From fragrances and cosmetics to metals and even skincare products, triggers can vary from person to person.

This case shows how proper identification of the cause, avoidance of triggers, and right treatment can make a significant difference.

Last Thursday (March 19), some of our members joined the first PDS LASER LABORATORY HANDS-ON WORKSHOP at the PDS Office.

The workshop featured a novel hybrid laser device
dual-programmed with ablative fractional CO2 and nonablative erbium glass laser.

Dr. Dawne Mendoza was joined by fellow Central Luzon Chapter members Dr. Marise Abejo, Dr. Wilsie Walinsundin, Dr. Criselda David-Javier, and Dr. Sharmaine Lozano.

Our members continue to hone their skills and keep abreast of the latest in dermatology, one convention, lecture, or workshop, at a time!

🚨 Protect Your Hands During Wet Work! 🚨

After just ONE WEEK of appropriate antibiotics and a targeted topical skin care regimen, this patient’s lesions completely cleared. She is now pain-free!

She initially developed a secondary bacterial hand infection from repeatedly doing wet work without proper protective gloves, presenting with multiple painful pustules that made even simple tasks difficult.

💡 Prevention Tip: Prolonged exposure to water, detergents, and cleaning agents can weaken the skin barrier, making it more prone to irritation and infection. Protect your hands by:
✔️ Wearing cotton liners beneath rubber gloves (This added layer improves comfort, absorbs sweat, and provides better protection!)
✔️ Keeping hands clean and dry
✔️ Moisturizing regularly to support the skin barrier
