ANNOUNCEMENT!

Municipal-Level Slogan Writing Contest on AIDS Awareness

The Manabo Rural Health Unit headed by Its Dynamic and Ever Supportive MHO, Dr. Dexter D. Apolonio, successfully conducted a Municipal-Level Slogan Writing Contest in line with strengthening the AIDS Response and Advocacy.

The contest was participated in by selected students from:

-Manabo National High School

-Our Lady of Lourdes High School

Through the coordination and evaluation of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), headed by Ms. Lou Angela Paet, a total of five (5) winners were carefully selected based on the approved judging criteria.

The following outputs were declared as winners, and they will:

-Represent the Municipality of Manabo at the Provincial Level, and

-Participate in the World AIDS Day Celebration, including joining the World AIDS Day Parade.

RHU Manabo successfully conducted a Mobile Blood Drive together with the Philippine Red Cross and the Provincial Health Office of Abra, collecting a total of 45 bags of blood — a 100% increase from our previous MBD! 💉❤️

🌿 Project GIN-AWA: Gearing Innovations towards Nurturing holistic Approach on Wellness for all Abreños! 🌿

Last September, the Municipal Health Office of Manabo, in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), the Provincial Government of Abra, and other partner agencies, successfully conducted Peer Support Group Sessions under Project GIN-AWA. 💚

🗓️ Day 1: Selected students from Manabo National High School and Our Lady of Lourdes High School actively participated in engaging wellness activities and open discussions on self-awareness, mental health, and emotional well-being.

🗓️ Day 2: Our hardworking Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) took part in the session, focusing on self-care, stress management, and mental resilience — recognizing the vital role they play in community health.

💬 These sessions aimed to nurture a culture of compassion, care, and kindness, reminding everyone that “You deserve love, care, and kindness, especially from yourself.” 💚

We successfully conducted another PuroKalusugan (PK) activity at Sitio Sapdaan, Ayyeng, Manabo, bringing essential health and wellness services directly to the community. 💚

Residents were able to avail of the following free services:

🧪 Free Laboratory Tests
🧾 PhilHealth Registration/Update
🍲 Feeding Program
📚 SBCC Sessions on:
• Nutrition
• Immunization
• Tuberculosis
• Hypertension & Diabetes

Today, the Rural Health Unit of Manabo successfully conducted a PuroKalusugan outreach activity at Sitio Casakgudan, San Ramon East, bringing vital healthcare services and health education to the community.

✅ NCD Risk Assessment
🧪 Free Laboratory Tests – Random Blood Sugar (RBS) & Urinalysis (UA)
🦷 Dental Fluoridization for children
👩‍⚕️ Medical Consultations using the IMCI (Integrated Management of Childhood Illness) approach
📋 PhilHealth Membership Assistance & e-Konsulta Registration
🍽️ Feeding Activity for children as part of our nutrition program

We also conducted SBCC (Social and Behavior Change Communication) sessions focused on:

🌟 Another Proud Day for Manabo! 🌟

Our Rural Health Unit, in partnership with LHIO-ABRA, successfully brought essential healthcare services closer to the community through the PhilHealth Konsulta Caravan, held at the Manabo Municipal Gymnasium. 🏥👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

As the 5th Blessed Municipality chosen by LHIO-ABRA for this meaningful initiative, this marks a significant milestone for Manabo and a proud moment for all our dedicated health workers. 💙

From meticulous planning to seamless execution—from initial registration to the actual delivery of vital health services—this event truly showcased the power of collaboration between RHU Manabo and LHIO-ABRA.

📣 School-Based Immunization Update from RHU Manabo!

We're proud to share the successful launch of our School-Based Immunization Program at Manabo National High School, where 181 Grade 7 students received their Measles-Rubella (MR) and Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td) vaccines. 💉✅

🛡️ But we’re not done yet!
We continue to encourage all parents to support this important health initiative:

👶 Grade 1 Students – MR & Td Vaccines
👧 Grade 4 Girls – 1st dose of the HPV Vaccine
👩 Grade 5 Girls – 2nd dose of the HPV Vaccine

These vaccines are safe, free, and effective in protecting your children from serious diseases. 💙 Let's work together to keep our learners healthy and in school!
