What is the E-Clutch in a Honda?

Honda E-Clutch is a new technology that allows riders to start, stop, and shift gears without manually operating the clutch lever. It's an electronic control system that automatically manages the clutch, according to Honda Global. This system is designed to improve the riding experience, particularly in situations where the driving force changes, such as starting, stopping, or shifting gears.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

AUTOMATIC CLUTCH CONTROL:
Honda E-Clutch replaces the traditional clutch lever, allowing the rider to control the motorcycle's gear changes using only the shift pedal.

SMOOTH AND INSTANT SHIFTS:
The system is designed to provide smooth and instant gear changes, making riding more effortless, especially in city traffic or on winding roads.

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE:
E-Clutch also offers a performance advantage by enabling clutch-less shifts, which can improve acceleration and handling on the track.

WIDE RANGE OF RIDERS:
Honda has designed E-Clutch to appeal to a wide range of riders, from beginners to experienced riders, by simplifying the riding experience.

AVAILABLE ON SELECT MODELS:
The technology is currently available on the Honda CB650R & CBR650R.

This video explains what Honda's E-Clutch is and what it's like to ride with it:
