LOOK: DOH LEADS THE BAGONG PILIPINAS SERBISYO FAIR IN ORIENTAL MINDORO
The Opening Ceremony of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, held at Oriental Mindoro National High School on March 09, 2024, highlighted the enthusiastic involvement of the Department of Health (DOH) and the MIMAROPA Center for Health Development (CHD), in collaboration with various National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Local Government Units (LGUs).
Usec. Maria Francia Laxamana spearheaded the DOH contingent and was joined by CHD MIMAROPA officials, namely, Director Mario S. Baquilod, Assistant Regional Director Vilma Diez, PDOHO Team Leader, Dr. Ramon Bombais, and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Cielo Angela Ante.
Speaker Martin Romualdez, along with Rep. Arnan Panaligan (Oriental Mindoro, 1st District Representative), Rep. Alfonso Umali Jr., (Oriental Mindoro, 2nd District Representative), Hon. Humerlito Dolor (Governor, Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro), and Hon. Ejay Falcon (Vice-Governor, Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro), led the event.
During the opening ceremony, DOH turned over 2 medical transport vehicles with a total amount of five million pesos (Php 5,000,000.00) to the municipalities of Socorro and Bulalacao. In addition, a number of assistive devices were also distributed to pre-identified recipients.
On its first day, the DOH offered a comprehensive range of services to 1800 constituents of Oriental Mindoro. The services included are Medical and Dental Consultation, Laboratory Services, Pharmacy Services, Mobile X-ray, HIV Caravan, Immunization Program (PPV23, HPV Vaccine), Minor Surgery Services (Minor excisions, circumcision), distribution of IEC materials for DOH Campaigns, Screening and Referral, Traditional, Complementary, and Alternative Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine Services, Mobile Blood Donation, and Nutrition Services.
The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair remains as a commendable endeavor dedicated to fostering a healthier community that is responsive to the needs of the constituents. Aligned with the Department’s 8-Point Action Agenda, it strives to ensure the accessibility and availability of health services to all Filipinos especially to those in the far-flung areas. As for the health leaders and champions of MIMAROPA, they vowed to continue serving their patients’ best interest and inspire others to do the same with the battle cry, “Kalusugan ng mga Isla, Kayamanan ng MIMAROPA dahil sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Buhay Mahalaga.”
