Paano nasuri ang osteoarthritis?
Ang isang tagapagbigay ng pangangalagang pangkalusugan ay mag-diagnose ng osteoarthritis gamit ang isang pisikal na pagsusulit at mga pagsusuri sa imaging. Titingnan nila ang iyong mga kasukasuan at tatanungin ka kung kailan mo unang napansin ang anumang mga sintomas. Sabihin sa kanila kung may mga aktibidad na nagpapalala sa iyong mga sintomas, o kung sila ay darating at umalis.

Anong mga pagsubok ang ginagawa upang masuri ang osteoarthritis?
Maaaring gumamit ng X-ray ang iyong tagapagbigay ng pangangalagang pangkalusugan upang kumuha ng litrato ng iyong mga kasukasuan. Maaari rin silang gumamit ng MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) o CT (computed tomography) scan.

Maaaring kailanganin mo ang mga pagsusuri sa dugo upang maalis ang iba pang mga kondisyon o isyu na nagdudulot ng mga katulad na sintomas.

Pamamahala at Paggamot
Paano ginagamot ang osteoarthritis?
Tutulungan ka ng iyong tagapagbigay ng pangangalagang pangkalusugan na makahanap ng mga paggamot na magpapaginhawa sa iyong mga sintomas ng osteoarthritis. Walang lunas para sa arthritis, at hindi mo maaaring palakihin muli ang kartilago sa iyong mga apektadong joints. Tutulungan ka ng iyong provider na maghanap ng mga paraan upang pamahalaan ang iyong mga sintomas kapag nararanasan mo ang mga ito.

Ang pinakakaraniwang paggamot para sa osteoarthritis ay kinabibilangan ng:

-Gamot: Makakatulong ang mga over-the-counter (OTC) na pain reliever na mabawasan ang pananakit at pamamaga. Maaaring kailanganin mo ng gamot na iniinom mo sa pamamagitan ng bibig o mga pangpawala ng sakit na pangkasalukuyan (mga cream, ointment o patches na inilalagay mo sa iyong balat malapit sa iyong mga apektadong joints).
-Mag-ehersisyo: Ang paggalaw ng iyong mga kasukasuan ay maaaring mapawi ang paninigas at palakasin ang mga kalamnan sa kanilang paligid. Ang mga aktibidad na may mababang epekto tulad ng paglangoy, water aerobics at weight training ay makakatulong lahat. Maaaring irekomenda ng iyong provider na makipagtulungan ka sa isang physical therapist.
-Mga pansuportang device: Maaaring suportahan at patatagin ng pagsusuot ng mga insert ng sapatos o brace ang iyong mga joints. Ang paggamit ng tungkod o panlakad ay maaaring makabawas ng presyon sa iyong mga apektadong kasukasuan at makatutulong sa iyong makakilos nang ligtas.
-Mga paggamot sa init at lamig: Ang paglalapat ng init o lamig sa iyong mga apektadong kasukasuan ay maaaring makatulong na mapawi ang pananakit at paninigas. Sasabihin sa iyo ng iyong provider kung gaano kadalas (at kung gaano katagal) dapat kang mag-apply ng heating pad, ice pack o cool compress.
-Komplementaryong therapy: Maaaring gumana ang mga komplementaryong therapy kasama ng iba pang mga opsyon sa paggamot. Kabilang sa mga halimbawa ng komplementaryong gamot ang acupuncture, masahe, meditation, tai chi at dietary supplements. Makipag-usap sa iyong provider bago ka magsimulang uminom ng anumang herbal o dietary supplement.
-Surgery: Karamihan sa mga tao ay hindi nangangailangan ng operasyon upang gamutin ang osteoarthritis. Maaaring magrekomenda ang iyong provider ng operasyon kung nakakaranas ka ng matitinding sintomas at hindi gumana ang iba pang paggamot. Maaaring kailanganin mo ng joint replacement (arthroplasty). Sasabihin sa iyo ng iyong provider o surgeon kung ano ang aasahan.
