The Department of Health (DOH), represented by UHC Health Services Cluster Undersecretary Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire, along with Ilocos Center for Health Development (CHD-1) Regional Director Dr. Paula Paz Sydiongco and Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMHMC) Chief Dr. Maria Lourdes K. Otayza, led the opening and blessing of the Newborn Screening Continuity Clinic (NBSCC) under the Department of Pediatrics of the MMMHMC on May 28, 2024.
Anchored on one of the Departmentโ€™s 8-Point Action Agenda, โ€œBawat Pilipino Ramdam ang Kalusugan," the opening of the NBSCC will strengthen the provision of long-term management to all patients who have been confirmed with conditions that were detected through the newborn screening. It will also serve as a referral network for confirmed patients, making it more accessible for them to seek consultation from their pediatric subspecialists and other services within and outside the facility.
The DOH team also led the blessing of the newly renovated Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), which houses an operating room, delivery room, and pediatric ICU.

Kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng Pride Month ngayon buwan ng Hunyo, patuloy ang serbisyong pangkalusugan na naglalayong wakasan ang diskriminasyon sa mga sakit tulad ng HIV/AIDS, ,TB, at iba pang uri ng hindi pantay na pagtingin sa mga kabilang sa LGBTQIA+ Community.
Kasama ang Kagawaran ng Kalusugan (DOH) sa pagsulong, pagbalangkas, at pagpapalawig ng serbisyong pangkalusugan na para sa lahat mula sa layuning makamit ang Universal Health Care, dahil sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Buhay Mahalaga.
