The University of the Philippines Manila Museum of a History of Ideas has steadfastly highlighted both the tangible and intangible dimensions of UPโ€™s cultural heritage and intellectual history. Recognizing that museums are not merely โ€œcabinets of curiosities,โ€ it has consistently championed education through transdisciplinary endeavors. The museum has also established itself as a dynamic hub for generating knowledge, fostering progressive discourse, and inspiring civic action, in alignment with UPโ€™s mission of social transformation.

In its tenth year, the Museum of a History of Ideas renews its commitment as a public and pedagogical institution under the theme โ€œeXpansions and eXplorations.โ€

The concept of expansion reflects the ever-growing universe. The museum is dedicated to broadening the frontiers of scholarship, engaging broader and more diverse audiences, and evolving beyond its existing curatorial vision.

Exploration, meanwhile, represents a deep dive into the intricate narratives of history, traversing space and time to trace the enduring influence of UPโ€™s ideas and scrutinize them in the contemporary context. Together, the theme captures the museumโ€™s dual focus on both breadth and depth in examining UPโ€™s past, present, and future.

As the museum embarks on a new decade, it invites the public to celebrate this significant milestone through its activities throughout October, coinciding with Museums and Galleries Month:

October 14 | Flag Ceremony
October 15 | Thanksgiving Mass
October 16-18 | Anniversary Bazaar
October 18 | Roundtable Discussion on Cultural Resilience in Crisis: The Role of University Museums
October 22 | 10th Anniversary Day

Together, let us expand our horizons and explore endless possibilities.
