Happy Women’s Month! USAID works with the Bangsamoro region’s Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) to incorporate family planning (FP) in the 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) Family Development Session (FDS). Through a joint initiative with the 4Ps, USAID trained parent leaders to conduct the FDS on FP among 4Ps families, to encourage couples and women to access FP services and avail themselves of the most appropriate FP methods of their choice.

MSSD Minister Atty. Raissa Jajurie commits to further improve the guide by contextualizing FP with religious and cultural perspectives to cater to the Moro, non-Moro, and indigenous peoples who live in the region’s most geographically isolated areas. She imparts that a program is most successful only when they work closely with communities and leaders see the impact of their work on the people who benefit from it. Congratulations BARMMHealth QI Team. Tabarakallah. Being recognized and awarded Guiding Star Award for an unequivocal commitment and the invaluable support to IPHO LdS, signed by the Minister of Health, Dr. Rizaldy L. Piang, and our LdS PHO II, Dr. Alinader D. Minalang, on Dec. 22, 2022 at the International Convention Center, MSU, Marawi City during the 2022 Annual Awarding and Recognition Ceremony. The meeting discussed the current health programs of the MOH and sought possible health development partnerships and collaborative projects to be implemented in the Bangsamoro region.

The delegation, headed by Mr. Earl Gast, President of the University Research Company LLC (URC), emphasized that their programs mainly focus on family planning and responsible parenthood.
